Major changes to Virgin Australia’s flight menu in time for summer
Virgin Australia has launched a new summer menu featuring margaritas, gin cocktails and chocolate waffles at 10,000 metres.
Economy Class passengers can enjoy Virgin’s food fiesta in the air with salted grapefruit margaritas, Papa Salt gin palomas, chocolate waffles and corn chips now on sale.
New meals will be available on selected flights, including cannelloni with spinach and ricotta, fried chicken with honey, as well as Belgian chocolate waffles and triple choc cookies.
The airline has revamped its on-board menu before the summer to offer its passengers more variety and good value.
Virgin Australia general manager of product and customer strategy Ali Dunn said they had created a diverse selection of meals and snacks with a focus on premium Australian products to suit a variety of tastes.
“Delivering the highest quality in-flight is at the heart of what we do, and this extends to our menus,” she said.

‘In addition, our award-winning cabin crew, known for their exceptional service, are an integral part of the process and provide valuable input during taste testing.’
Business class passengers will be treated to a new menu from November 20, with waffles, mascarpone, strawberries, maple syrup and passion fruit-mango pancakes.
Passengers can also enjoy a chicken noodle salad, beef quesadilla or pork with sticky lemon sauce and rice.
