Major supermarket slashes the price of school uniforms and gives you 25% off
IF you have children going back to school or starting in September, Tesco is the best place to go.
The supermarket chain’s 25 percent discount on school uniforms is back and shoppers are rushing to click to discounted pants, tops and sweaters.
The discounts started today (July 23) and one customer confirmed they had landed in her local store.
To the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UKshe wrote: “25% off all school uniforms available in Tesco Today.”
Her photos showed racks of school pants, pinafore dresses, shirts and sweaters, all available at discounted prices.
It usually doesn’t take long to work, so it might be a good idea to stock up while you can.
Make sure you have your Tesco Clubcard or app to hand when you get to the checkout so the discount is applied.
Many buyers seemed eager to take advantage of the discount, with one saying, “I’m going to buy some right away.”
TESCO’s F&F range offers excellent value for money, with top quality functions.
Think of an adjustable waist, stain-resistant fabrics and a color that lasts a long time.
But it also comes with a one-year warranty, so if one of your uniforms doesn’t last, the store will replace it for you.
Mini models Anaya Dodhia Rasul (7) and Emanoel Roberts Dos Santos (6) gave Fabulous their verdict on the Tesco range.
Emanoel says: “It’s a really good sweater, it’s soft and warm.”
His mother Raquel says: “This sweater is beautiful. With a fleece lining he will get through the winter. These pants are quite good. They are thick and have an adjustable waist, so they will last a long time as he grows.”
Anaya says: “This cardigan isn’t as soft as some of the others, but it’s okay. The polo top is nice too.”
Dad Nas says: “Fun and simple, not too frivolous. The skirt is also adjustable which is great.”
The major supermarkets have these kinds of offers every year at the beginning of summer.
This way, parents can already stock up on some supplies for the start of the new school year in September.
This is because school uniform prices are becoming increasingly expensive as living costs put pressure on household budgets.
Other chains offering discounts on children’s uniforms include Aldi and Marks and Spencer.
Discounter Aldi is bringing back its popular £5 uniform bundle deal this year.
Aldi’s basic pack costs just £5 and includes sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts, trousers, skirts and cargo shorts.
It will be available in stores from July 4th, so families will have to be quick, because as with all Specialbuys, gone = gone.
M&S has been offering the same prices on school uniforms since 2021 and has confirmed that its popular 20% early bird discount on school uniforms will be back in place from 2 July.
You can get a discount by shopping online or in stores where the uniform is in stock.
How can I save money on school uniforms?
IF you are struggling to afford the cost of school uniforms or PE kit, you may be able to apply for a grant from your local council. However, the criteria for this will vary from council to council.
This is usually in the form of a one-off payment that is deposited directly into your bank account. Some councils will refund payments made to approved retailers.
You can ask your municipality what assistance is available and when you should submit an application.
If you cannot get targeted help from your municipality, there are other options to get a cheap uniform.
Contact your school to ask if they can provide you with clothing.
Some charities also offer help to families in need. Charity Turn2Us has a free grant search tool on its website that you can use to find out what help is available to you.
Thrift stores can also be a good place to find cheap school uniforms.
