A 24-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Bobbi-Anne McLeod, who disappeared from a Plymouth bus stop on Saturday on his way to meet her boyfriend.

Her body was discovered Tuesday afternoon near Bovisand beach, about seven miles from where she was last seen.

Cody Ackland, who was arrested Tuesday, has now been charged with the murder of Mrs McLeod, Devon and Cornwall police said this morning.

He is due to appear before the Plymouth Magistrates’ Court later today.

Bobbi-Anne was reported missing on Saturday night and was found dead Tuesday near the coastal path and car park above Bovisand beach

The family of the 18-year-old has been informed and supported by specialist officers, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Police said on Thursday there was “no known link” between Ms McLeod and the suspect.

Assistant Chief of Police Nikki Leaper said investigators were not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder.

Mrs McLeod left her home in Leigham at about 6pm and was last seen waiting at a bus stop close to her home as she entered the town.

Hundreds of people gathered at the spot where she was last seen to hold a candlelight vigil in her memory.

In recent days, local residents have laid a flower bank strewn with candles.

Donna McLeod, the victim’s mother, was very upset during the wake, but was able to thank the crowd for all the love and support her family has received over the past few days.

“Thank you for going out of your way to find her and take our baby home,” she said.
