A real estate agent in Virginia was murdered by one of his clients after he bought a house, unseen in what is ruled a murder-suicide.

Søren Arn-Oelschlegel, 41, was fatally shot Friday by Albert Baglione, 84. Police in the city of Portsmouth arrived at a house on Bolling Road and found Baglione, who said he was armed and had killed Arn-Oelschlegel.

Baglione went back to that house. Officers heard a shot a moment later.

A SWAT team then entered the building to find that he had committed suicide and found both Baglione and Arn-Oelschlegel dead.

Arn-Oelschlegel went to the house because Baglione had called him angrily and wanted to give it back. He tried to reassure Baglione about the purchase.

The broker is remembered by the local LGBTQ community as a committed member.

“We are heartbroken to announce to our Hampton Roads Pride family that yesterday, Friday, October 8, 2021, Søren Arn-Oelschlegel, our brother, friend, member and volunteer was fatally shot,” the local nonprofit organization Hampton Road Pride wrote. their Facebook page. Our love and support go out to Soren’s family and friends as we struggle to wrap our heads around this devastating loss. Soren’s kind and generous spirit left us too soon.’

Hampton Roads Pride president Rudy Almanzor said Arn-Oelschlegel was a big part of the group.

“He always had tons of energy. I’ve never not seen him not smiling, laughing and wanting to have fun. He worked hard, played hard,” Almanzor said of Arn-Oelschlegel.

Hampton Roads Pride will hold a candlelight vigil for Arn-Oelschlegel Thursday night.

“I had to read it literally four to five times and thought, ‘This makes no sense,'” Almanzor said. “We’re here to build the community, and one of our building blocks is missing.”

Portsmouth’s Major Crimes Unit is still investigating the case.
