Man charged with murder after teenager found dead in bushland near Wilton
A man has been charged with murder after a 15-year-old boy was found dead in bushland near Sydney’s south-west.
The teenager’s body was found along Wilton Park Road in Wilton on Saturday morning, with the 32-year-old man arrested after reporting to Narellan police station shortly after 4pm.
He has been charged with murder and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday where police will allege he stabbed the teenager during a physical altercation.
Police believe about a dozen young campers gathered near the area where the body was found on Friday evening.
Acting Chief Inspector Tim Calman said the state crime officer was called to the site to assist as there were ‘a lot of moving parts’.
Police believe the boy is from the Wilton area.
His family had been informed of his death, Supt Calman said, and were being supported by police.
“We have expressed our thoughts to the family,” he said. “They’re going to have a tough time this afternoon.”

Police are appealing for anyone with knowledge of the incident, dashcam or mobile footage to come forward, as well as anyone who may have been in the area since 6pm on Friday.
“Police are speaking to a number of witnesses and we are searching the area, buildings, petrol stations and everything down there, which will give us an idea of what actually happened,” Supt Calaman said.
“There would be evidence at the scene to indicate that it happened in the area where this person may have been… we will have a clearer idea when that area has been processed.
‘We currently have a number of active lines of inquiry that we are following up on.’
