Manchester City have held further conversations about a deal of £ 55 million for AC Milan Midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.

The 26-year-old Dutch international has improved his reputation since he came to Milan from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 and scored 19 goals in 104 games for the Italian side.

City also wants Lyon’s £ 30m rated midfielder Rayan Cherki, who likes to be moving.

Cherki, 21, scalned in both legs of Lyon’s chaotic Europa League quarter -final defeat Manchester United last month.

If both deals claim, it will evoke doubts about a movement for Nottingham ForestS Morgan Gibbs-White.

City is on the market for a new midfielder this summer because of the approaching departure of club legend Kevin De Bruyne.
