In a video shared on TikTok, the reseller told his viewers how he makes money with retail arbitrage.

Retail arbitrage simply means reselling a product for a profit.

In the UK it is perfectly legal, once you own an item you have the right to resell it.

The video shows the man going to his local Asda store and heading straight for the sale.

Using the BuyBotGo app, he scanned a number of pans. The app told him how much they were selling for on Amazon and how many times they had been sold in the past month.

When he discovered he could make £15 profit on every pan he sold on Amazon, he cleared out all the shelves.

The man then walked past three more Asdas and repeated the process, loading his shopping trolley with the discounted pans.

After four hours, the reseller calculated that he had bought enough pans to make a profit of £165, which meant he was making £40 an hour.

The reseller makes a profit on the items by reselling them through Amazon FBA.

Amazon FBA is a service that online sellers can use, where Amazon takes care of the storage, packaging, and shipping of your products.

TikTok users rushed to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts, with many calling the reseller selfish.

Someone said, “There’s nothing left on the shelves for the people who are struggling economically right now.”

A fourth said: “The people who need the offers can’t get them because you’ve cleared the shelves in all the shops in the area.”

A fifth responded: “It shouldn’t be allowed to make these kinds of big purchases, I think it’s selfish.”
