Man gored through testicle by angry bull and another gored as he is crushed against metal bars during summer festivals in Spain

A man was gored in the testicle by a raging bull during a summer festival in Spain.

The 49-year-old man, whose first name consists only of the initials JHC, took part in a bullfight in the western Spanish town of Coria where he was seriously injured earlier this month, local media reported.

He was reportedly struck three times by the bull’s horn: once in his right buttock, once in his right thigh, and once in his right testicle, with the horn miraculously not being torn off.

The man also had internal bleeding and required emergency surgery, but doctors immediately said they were optimistic about his recovery.

This comes after another man was impaled while being crushed by metal bars during a Spanish festival on July 14.

The man, a waiter from Coria, challenged the bull that was coming towards him and threw it into the air by stabbing its horn twice into the man’s backside.

The bull also injured the man’s torso and then turned its attention to another man who was waving a pink flag at him.

According to local media, the man was rushed to surgery at a local hospital but survived his serious injuries.

It’s been a year since the so-called ‘Messi of the Matadors’ was seriously injured in a bullfight. In July 2023, he was crushed against the barriers by a 1,000-pound bull at an event in Santiago, Spain.

Andrés Roca Rey, 26, suffered multiple injuries and bruises all over his body after he was gored by a bull, named Viruta, that charged the Peruvian, dragging him against the boards surrounding the stadium and throwing him into the air.

Roca Rey was left leaning against the wall while others ran in to distract the bull and pull him to safety.

Although Roca Rey has had his fair share of injuries in his eight-year career, spectators said this was the worst injury so far.

Santander’s Plaza de Toros medical service issued two reports, which noted a “polytrauma to the left knee” and “multiple bruises on the neck, face, right thigh and left knee”.

The massacre took place after the killing of two bulls during the fourth bullfight of the Feria de Santiago.

The video shows partner Cayetano Rivera coming to the aid of Roca Rey, who suffers a fractured rib and edema.

Roca Rey wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘Cayetano, I want to thank you because yesterday you showed your camaraderie and your contempt for life to save mine.’

Rivera said the risk was “worth it.” The matador was told to remain “in absolute rest” for at least 48 hours after the attack.
