Adidas, who signed a mega-deal of £ 900 million with United in 2015 for 10 years, is now confronted with increasing pressure from fans to show more creativity and respect for the rich heritage of the club.
A tongue-in-cheek post was: “Next season they will simply hand us red vests and say that it is ‘retro’.”
United still has to officially reveal the kit, but if the online recoil is something to visit, they might want to go back to the drawing table.
