Man Wants to Kill His Wife, Ends Up Killing Her Parents | India News – Times of India
HYDERABAD: A scorned husband who sneaked into his house woman‘s house to kill her for abandoning him ended with her being killed parents who tried to stop him late on Wednesday night in a village in Warangal in Telengana. His wife, Deepika (19), suffered stab wounds on her hands and her brother suffered a minor cut on his neck.
Police arrested the suspect, Mekkala Nagaraju, a car driver, on Thursday.
Nagaraju and Deepika had walked away and married in November last year after her parents objected to their intercommunity union. Nagaraju is an SC and Deepika is a tribal. The couple’s romance had blossomed after Deepika first met him as a passenger in his car.
After marriage, they shifted to Hyderabad, but within two months, Deepika changed her mind and left Nagaraju for her parents’ house. Nagaraju was distraught since then, police said.
On Wednesday night, Deepika’s father Banothu Srinu (48) and mother Suguna (42), sleeping outside their house in Chinnaraopet village, woke up with a start to see Nagaraju searching for Deepika with a long knife in his hand. A scuffle ensued and Nagaraju repeatedly hacked the couple to pieces, police said. Suguna died on the spot, while Srinu succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
