- Martin Dubravka has been loaned to Manchester United for a season
- The deal includes an option to buy the 33-year-old at the end of the season
- The Slovakia international has played more than 125 Premier League matches
- Dubravka is the sixth player to join United during the summer transfer window
Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has been loaned to Manchester United from Newcastle United for a season.
The 33-year-old Slovakia international traveled to Manchester on Tuesday for his medical check after Newcastle relented when he is now demanding £6million, but an obligation to pay comes into effect after Dubravka has made a certain number of appearances.
There are reports that Newcastle have a recall option in January if they face an injury crisis that leaves them falling short of the position.
The Slovakia international has made more than 125 appearances in the Premier League over the past five seasons, playing 29 caps for his country.

Dubravka said: “Joining Manchester United is a special moment in my career and I can’t wait to get started and help the group achieve its ambitions.”
“I join an excellent group of goalkeepers with a lot of experience in the Premier League and I know we will push and support each other to keep our standards at the highest level. The opportunity to work with David De Gea, alongside Tom Heaton, is one that I enjoy.
“I would like to sincerely thank everyone at Newcastle United, especially the fans, for the many great experiences over the past four and a half years. I loved every minute of my time there and made great memories to look back on. My focus now is on helping Manchester United and we’ll see what the future holds after I give it my all this season. I’m excited to be here!’

United’s football director John Murtough added: “Martin has proven to be a top goalkeeper in the Premier League and his experience and personality will be a great addition to our strong goalkeeper squad, alongside David, Tom and our younger goalkeepers.
“Together they will create a high-performance environment, with each of them ready to perform and play when called upon.”
Dubravka had asked Newcastle to let him go after United’s tackle last week. He has become understudy to Nick Pope after his arrival from Burnley and wanted the opportunity to move to Old Trafford where he can challenge David de Gea and Tom Heaton.

Not long ago, he was regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, having cemented himself as the No. 1 in St James’ Park.
The goalkeeper has played 130 times for Newcastle in all competitions, keeping a clean sheet 37 times.
Dubravka is United’s sixth signing of the summer window, the first under new manager Erik ten Hag.
Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Antony have also joined the club.
