Southampton is determined to sign PSV star Cody Gakpo, while Manchester United are no longer chasing the Dutchman.
Gakpo has been linked to United all summer and said on Monday a move to Old Trafford remains a “serious option”.
But Sports post understand United are no longer chasing the winger as they land a £84m deal for Ajax’s Antony, opening the door for other Premier League clubs including Southampton Everton, Fulham, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Arsenal to show interest .

Gakpo’s stash soared last season as he racked up an incredible 12 assists. He has already scored three goals in four games this season.
Despite being only 23, the Dutch international has already scored 43 goals in 146 games for PSV and won the Eredivisie.
The Telegraph report that a £21.4m bid has already been rejected by Southampton’s PSV, but the Saints remain keen to make the Dutchman their main signing of the summer.
Southampton have had a mixed start to the season and they welcome Chelsea 13th in the league table at St Mary’s on Tuesday.

Everton’s Frank Lampard and Leeds’ Jesse Marsch are both also said to be interested in Gakpo – but it’s Southampton pushing ahead to try and land the Dutchman
They have made five purchases so far but are now investigating the potential of a late move for Gakpo.
Boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is determined to add more firepower to his side, but the same can be said of Everton, Fulham, Leeds and Nottingham Forest.
Over the weekend, Gakpo, a PSV academy graduate, said of his future in light of Ajax star Antony on his way to Manchester United: “Nice for [Antony] but for me and my future I don’t think that has any influence.
‘It’s like a puzzle, so in the coming days I’ll see which puzzle fits best. It certainly wouldn’t be bad for me to stay at PSV. We will see.’
