A manhunt has been launched to find a former restaurateur accused of importing more than 900kg of cocaine into Australia.

Mostafa Baluch, 33, of Sydney’s Northern Beaches is wanted for allegedly violating his bail conditions after he was hit by drug offenses when his Bayview home was robbed in June.

NSW Police are now urging anyone with information about Baluch to come forward with the man reportedly last seen on Pittwater Road, Bayview, around 10:40pm on Monday.

“Anyone who sees Mostafa or has any information about his whereabouts is urged not to approach him and immediately call Triple Zero (000),” the NSW Police Department said.

Police believe he is traveling in a dark gray Mercedes SUV and is still in the Northern Beaches area.

Earlier in June, Baluch, who once owned restaurant Cervo in Northbridge, was charged with possession of anabolic steroids, dispensing drugs and handling the proceeds of crime.

He was subsequently slapped with a new charge of conspiracy to import a commercial amount of drugs and denied bail.

The millionaire restaurateur was arrested as part of an investigation into an alleged organized crime conspiracy to supply three tons of cocaine in NSW.

Detectives opened the investigation last year after receiving a tip about a person who had gambled a huge amount of money at the Star Casino, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Police claim they discovered drugs being imported into Australia and the Americas.

The US Navy has seized 870 kg of cocaine after intercepting a ship traveling off the coast of Colombia in October 2020.

Another 900kg of the drug was seized in April from a boat sailing off the coast of Ecuador.

Both shipments were reportedly part of the overarching conspiracy to import a total of three tons of cocaine into Australia.

More to come.
