Slim Jim: In February, Martine revealed it’s taken her “so long to do what works for (her)” when she opened up about her health and staying in shape
She said, ‘I think it takes a long time to know what your own recipe is. It has taken me such a long time to look through all the things out there and do what works for me. So it’s not as simple as just going on a crazy diet. I just think it’s really important to encourage women to just be the best version of themselves.’
In detail about her diet, she added, “The 80/20 rule is what works for me. 80% of my week I mainly eat only healthy proteins, fruits and vegetables, organic and vegetable juices and Flora ProActiv spread. And then I have something tasty 20% of the time.’
She describes indulging in pizza, chocolate, or a G&T for special occasions, noting that she doesn’t feel guilty for doing “good things for my heart” most of the week.

The mum-of-one also shared that she keeps in shape by walking her dogs every day after the school run, with the outings being good for both “my head and my health.”
When taking cold showers to help fibromyalgia, she explained, “It’s not every day, but I have one when I can.
‘I’ll take a cold shower at the end’ [of a hot shower] and stay there as long as I can. It really makes me feel like I’ve had WD-40.”
Last year Martine indicated an interview hello magazine and spoke of living with Lyme disease, which, according to the NHS, causes ‘fever, headache, fatigue and a rash called erythema migraine’ during the pandemic.
She told the publication, “If you have an underlying disease, you can’t take any risks.
“As with any chronic condition, you can have flare-ups. When I go out I always have my mask and my gloves on and take it very seriously.
“I’ve been very good emotionally for a long time and feel a lot calmer. It was good to realize that it’s okay to do things at your own pace.’
Lyme disease is caused by a bacteria that is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected black-legged ticks that can lead to long-lasting and life-changing health problems.
