Meghan Markle ‘strategically refrains from memoir for the sake of peace’
WITH Prince Harry raking in eye-watering sums for his bombshell Spare memoir, Meghan Markle could soon follow in his footsteps.
According to insiders, the Duchess of Sussex is waiting for the right time to release a comprehensive book – and that could make her millions.
A source told Closer Online: “Word in publishing circles is that everyone is raving about getting Meghan’s memoir and the numbers being thrown around are ridiculously high.
“We’re talking tens of millions for her authorized biography – it’s going to get to the point where she can’t say no anymore.
“And love her or hate her, there’s no denying that she has an insight into the royal family that no one else can share.”
Prince Harry’s memoir Spare reportedly earned him around $27 million (£20 million), including an advance of at least $20 million (£14 million).
The insider claimed that Megahn has a “remarkable story,” and that it is just a matter of finding the right timing.
They added: “She has been strategically chosen to postpone for the sake of peace, but she absolutely wants to share her truth – and why wouldn’t she, when she has had to endure so much?”
While a revealing memoir may not be good news for the royal family, it is something they will “have to deal with sooner rather than later,” the source claims.
SUSSEX REVEALED
Since stepping back as senior royals, Meghan and Harry have done some explosive interviews.
The Duchess of Sussexes described her time as a royal as ‘almost unsurvivable’ and described having suicidal thoughts.
She said: ‘I was ashamed to say it at the time… I just didn’t want to live anymore. And that was a very real, clear, frightening and constant thought.”
She claims she went to “one of the oldest people” to mentally search health help, but was told it would not be good for the institution.
Meghan claimed: “They said, ‘My heart goes out to you because I see how bad it is, but there’s nothing we can do to protect you because you’re not a paid employee of the institution.’”
Meghan also claimed that it was Kate who cried over the bridesmaid dress incident.
She told Oprah: “What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn’t do, but for what happened to me and to the people involved in my wedding, who went to my communications team and said, ‘I know. this didn’t happen.’
“Everyone in the facility knew it wasn’t true.”
HARRY’S MEMOIR SWIPE
But there was even more in Harry’s Spare book, as he recalled an alleged altercation with his brother William that ended with him falling into a dog litter box.
Harry’s father, King Charles, was also in the firing line for criticism.
Harry railed against his father for not hugging him after the death of his mother, Diana, the late princess of Wales.
He also revealed how William disapproved of Harry’s marriage to Meghan, once calling her ‘difficult’, ‘rude’ and ‘abrasive’.
Meanwhile, Harry branded Camilla the ‘bad guy’ and an ‘evil stepmother’ and accused her of leaking stories about Prince William to the media.
