Meghan Trainor warns against Botox as she says lip twisting has ruined her smile
She is only 30, but has already experimented with Botox.
However, Meghan Trainor has issued a warning to other young women considering the wrinkle-freezing injections after her latest procedure.
On her Workin’ On It podcastMeghan admitted she decided to get a lip flip after being promised it would enhance her pout.
But she regretted it when her smile almost disappeared.
“To all my fellow girls out there who are in their 30s, hello,” Meghan began.
“I have too much Botox and I need help. I messed up. Listen, I’ve had Botox a few times, just a few times, only on my forehead, you know.
“And someone convinced me with my little lips that if you did a lip flip, you put filler right above your upper lip, that you could get a beautiful lip flip on your upper lip and that I could have one for the first time in my entire 30s. lived for years.”
But Meghan insisted it was “not true”.
“And I can’t smile anymore either,” she added, showing how “big” she can now smile.
After being called out by her brother for having the procedure done at a homeware store, Meghan admitted she now “can’t undo it.”
“And everywhere I go my face hurts when I smile, it hurts to even try!” she said.
She shared a photo of herself at a dog daycare event after flipping the lip, saying: “I’m a happy person here, holding a puppy but I don’t look happy – it looks like I’m smelling someone’s lips fart!”
However, she has learned from the botched procedure.
“Do you know what this has taught me?” she said.
“It taught me that my smile lights up a room. And when it’s not there, it’s a dim light.
“I feel like I’m not happy because I can’t laugh.”
Meghan even admitted that she has gone to great lengths to get rid of the filler above her lip – to reverse the lip flip.
“I bring vibrators to my upper lip and say, ‘Get out of here!’ she laughed.
What is a lip flip?
MEGHAN may have regretted her decision to get a lip flip, but what is that anyway?
During a lip flip, a doctor injects Botox into the corners of your mouth and around the edges of the lips.
This then relaxes the muscles around the upper lip, causing the upper lip to “flip” a little and appear larger than normal.
It has proven effective for those with a “gummy” smile, but is also a favorite among celebrities.
It is also considered more natural than lip fillers.
Results become visible after about a week and can last up to about eight weeks.
The cost of a lip flip in Britain can range from £80 to £200.
The Lips Are Movin singer also used the podcast to reveal she has a boob job after breastfeeding hers “sagged”.
People in the comments section were quick to express Meghan’s lip-flip regret, with one writing: “I hated my lip-flip!
“I couldn’t drink from a straw or say a word with a P in it. It was horrible.”
“Honeys, this was the warning I needed. I had been thinking about the cover,” another admitted.
“Haaaated the lip flip. I couldn’t drink or eat for weeks,” said a third.
“Lip flip was the worst decision I ever made,” someone else agreed.
“Once and never again!”
However, there were those who enjoyed the results of their lip flips, with some saying it could be that Meghan just hasn’t found the right person to do it for her.
“I absolutely love my lip flip, it’s so important to find an injector that doesn’t inject too much! I still have TONS of mobility and beautiful results!” one insisted.
“I personally love my lip flip. I do drool a bit,” laughed another.
“Loved it! Less painful than getting full lips done,” a third commented.
