A police operation has unfolded SydneyThe southwest with one man shot after the efforts of officers to stop the man with a taser and non-deadly rounds were not effective.

He was treated immediately by NSW ambulance paramedics on the spot and brought to the Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
