Mi Band 7 launch scheduled for May 24, Xiaomi hints at bigger screen

Mi Band 7 has been confirmed by Xiaomi. The fitness band will launch alongside the Redmi Note 11T series in China on May 24. Xiaomi has also leaked some details about the specifications of the Mi Band 7, the successor to the Mi Band 6. The Chinese company has also confirmed that the Mi Band 7 will come with a 1.62-inch AMOLED display with 25 percent more viewing area. The previously leaked specifications of the wearable had suggested that it will feature a 192×490 pixels display with an always-on display (AOD).

In a after On Weibo, the Chinese company confirmed that the Mi Band 7 will be launched on May 24. Xiaomi has also confirmed that it will feature a larger display and a better viewing area than its predecessor Mi Band 6. The company said that the smartwatch will feature a 1.62-inch AMOLED display with a 25 percent larger viewing area. The company eventually said that the new product could be launched during the Redmi Note 11T series China launch event.

Zeng Xuezhong, Senior Vice President and President of Smartphone Division at Xiaomi, said in a after on Weibo that the upcoming Mi Band 7 will have a larger runway-shaped display. Xuezhong also said that the Mi Band 7 will have an NFC function and will cover more than 300 bus cards. Xuezhong claimed that this will be the strongest Mi Band yet.

Mi Band 7 specifications (rumors)

According to a recent report, the Mi Band 7 will reportedly feature GPS support, AOD and a 192×490 pixel display. The fitness tracker is said to have model numbers M2129B1 and M2130B1. The fitness tracker is said to have been codenamed “L66”. The Mi Band 7 is also rumored to come with a power saving mode that could extend the battery life of the fitness tracker. It will reportedly only record steps and basic sleep information in the power saving mode. The fitness tracker could also get a Smart Alarm feature that can wake a user up 30 minutes before their scheduled alarm if it detects light sleep.
