Mi Band 7 specs spotted online; GPS, larger screen tipped
Xiaomi’s alleged Mi Band 7 specifications have been spotted online, giving fitness enthusiasts an idea of what to expect from the company’s next fitness tracker. The new fitness tracker is set to succeed the Mi Band 6 and could feature a larger display than its predecessor, always-on display (AOD), GPS support, and a smart alarm feature. It is worth noting that the Chinese company is yet to announce any official information about any upcoming fitness tracker, including its specifications and features.
According to a report According to XDA Developers citing tipster Magical Unicorn, details of the Mi Band 7 have been spotted on Huami’s Zepp application. Xiaomi’s rumored successor to the Mi Band 6 is said to feature a display resolution of 192×490 pixels, up from the 152×486 pixels resolution of the Mi Band 6 that was launched in India in August 2021.
The Mi Band 7 display is expected to feature a new AOD mode on a few watch faces, which is an improvement over the Mi Band 6. It is said to offer out-of-the-box GPS support, which means it can be used to track workouts such as jogs and runs without a connected smartphone. However, the GPS capability could come at the cost of battery life, as is the case with other wearables that offer GPS functionality.
According to the manufacturer, the fitness tracker would carry the model numbers M2129B1 and M2130B1. tipsterand are codenamed “L66”. The Mi Band 7 is also said to come with a power saving mode (only recording steps and basic sleep information) which could further extend the wearable’s battery life. It could also come with a Smart Alarm feature that can wake a user up to 30 minutes before their alarm is set to go off if light sleep is detected.
As mentioned earlier, Xiaomi has not yet released any details about the Mi Band 7. However, considering the Mi Band 6 was launched in March 2021, one can expect an official announcement to be made soon.
