Mia Plecic’s wedding marred when Melbourne bridal boutique created a custom wedding dress for an influencer who called her out for wearing a different dress that day

Mia Plecic and partner Justin Borg have tied the knot in a beautiful Italian wedding, but their happy day was marred by controversy over her wedding dress.

The influencer, 32, shared images from the romantic day on the Amalfi Coast on Instagram on Tuesday, showing off the floral embroidered dress she wore for her big day.

However, the mother of one child received a call from Outspoken podcast having allegedly made a ‘counter-deal’, she closed a bridal boutique store Champery Couture in Melbourne.

“It is believed that Mia made a counter-deal with the boutique but never came to pick up the dress,” said host sisters Amy, Sophie and Kate Taeuber.

Mia announced on June 1 that the Chapel Street bridal company had started making her wedding dress, showing a glimpse of the hand-beaded dress, but “did not indicate whether this was a gifted or paid partnership.”

Just a few months later, when Mia started posting about her luxury European vacation leading up to her wedding, Champery Couture unfollowed the Slick Hair co-founder on Instagram.

In August, the bridal company shared a video of a wedding dress, featuring a beaded corset and flowing skirts made of “100% Italian silk,” that resembled the dress Mia had shown off months earlier.

Alongside the Instagram clip, Champery Couture revealed that the dress was “custom made for someone” but was not used by that person.

The influencer shared images of the dress she actually wore on her wedding day (left), while Daily Mail Australia has obtained images of the other dress designed by Champery Couture (right)

Photos of the dress designed by Champery Couture, seen by Daily Mail Australia, show it features an extravagant pearl and beaded bodice and a floating tiered skirt.

Photos shared on social media showed the dress Mia wore to her wedding, which features a plunging neckline and floral embroidery along the bust and chiffon skirts, and looks nothing like the dress she originally teased in June.

Champery Couture confirmed on Instagram and to Daily Mail Australia that Mia was the influencer referenced in the post they made about the abandoned dress.

“We have received questions about the situation involving Ms. Plecic,” a spokesperson began in a message alongside images of the dress the company designed for Mia.

‘Note the dress worn [at Mia’s wedding] was NOT one of our dresses. We can confirm that we have created a beautiful dress for Ms Plecic, which she has approved at every stage.”

They further said that Mia did not use the dress they designed for her wedding and added that they are in discussions with their lawyers to address the ongoing issue with Mia.

“Any money recovered from the dress situation will be donated to @bullyzero. We will be doing a photoshoot soon in this beautiful dress,” she added.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Mia for comment.

The Outspoken Podcast claimed that Champery Couture and Mia’s messages indicated a counter-deal, the exchange of services and goods without monetary compensation, gone wrong.

Due to the turn of events, Champery Couture was looking for an alternative buyer earlier this year.

In August, the company posted a message on Instagram asking followers if they had any idea what to do with the dress that Mia reportedly decided not to wear on her wedding day.

‘We have our legal team here next week, but we wanted to ask everyone how we can get rid of this dress.

“We made this custom dress, a one-off design. Unfortunately we have lost thousands… and we would like to get a refund for this dress…

‘It is 100% Italian silk, approximately size 20 bust and hips and size 14 to 16 waist. We would like to donate all the money we get back to a good cause. Any thoughts?’

“Mr. and Mrs. Borg,” Mia wrote alongside a ring emoji alongside images on Instagram of the newlyweds relaxing on a romantic boat trip off the coast of Conca dei Marini, a small Italian town.

They had musicians play live harp, cello and violin during the ceremony, as well as an opera singer serenading guests during their reception.
