Two-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Klim has been spotted with a walking stick while in Melbourne with his mother – just days after seeing the current crop of Commonwealth Games athletes in Queensland.

Klim was in Southport to watch Cody Simpson and Jess Corones get to work at the Gold Coast Aquatic Center these weeks ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

He posted photos of himself by the pool without a cane on Wednesday and the caption, “Hard not to get excited and inspired by the pool.”

Just two days later, he was spotted using the walking aid, leading to speculation that he may need treatment for the leg he broke two years ago.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Klim for comment.

Klim also posted a cryptic message on Twitter on May 22, which read: ‘Last beach walk with [partner] @michelle_Owen and [dog] Mike for a few weeks [sic]†

He returned in 2020 from a family vacation with his partner Michelle and three children with a blue cast on his left leg and walking using metal crutches.

The former Olympic champion also underwent several procedures at a cancer treatment center in Sydney in 2021 to have a cyst removed from his throat.

The 44-year-old was seen on Friday opening the passenger’s back door of a luxury vehicle with his mother beside him, leaning his right arm on the walking stick.

He wore the same long-sleeved black shirt with white crosses on the back that he wore in Southport as he watched the next batch of Australian swimmers.

The vehicle appears to be a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo electric vehicle recently loaned to the swimming champion.

Klim posted ‘Unfortunately all good things come to an end but I’m very grateful for the chance to experience the all-new all-electric #converted @porscheaus #taycancrossturismo #mindblowing #car @porschemelbourne’ on Instagram Friday afternoon.

The three-time Olympian, multiple world champion and 21-time world record holder has been actively involved with the Australian dolphins since his retirement in 2007.

Klim won two gold medals at the Sydney Olympics (100m freestyle relay and 200m freestyle relay).

The Australian team’s gold medal-winning performance in the 100m relay is one of the most iconic moments in Australian sport.

He is also the founder of the fashion and fragrance company Milk and Co which he launched in 2008.

Klim was previously married to socialite Lindy Rama-Ellis for 10 years before announcing their divorce in February 2016.
