Michael van Gerwen brings back a big change for darts after announcing a divorce

Michael van Gerwen returned to the Oche in the weekend after the announcement of his divorce – and he made an important change.

The Dutchman announced that he had broken down from wife Daphne Last month after 11 years of marriage.

He then withdrew from the Dutch Darts Championship and took a break of playing.

But he returned to the sport on Sunday during a mode event in Waregem, Belgium.

Van Gerwen Share some images of himself on stage on social media and endors the post with: “What a phenomenal atmosphere tonight.”

The former world champion, however, closed his iconic green shirt for the occasion.

The 36-year-old has changed his characteristic comic only once in the past 15 years – at the Winmau World Masters in January.

For a unique opportunity, he agreed to wear a special black and gold sweater to spend five years with the tournament sponsors.

This time, however, Van Gerwen put on a black shirt with green stripes and a bright green logo at the back.

Fans were delighted to see the Dutchman in action again, with a few commentary messages of support on his latest social media post.

One person wrote: “Nice shirt! Great to see you again Michael.”

Another one said, “Great to see you again.”

While a third said: “Great to see you and about MVG, I hope you’re doing well and look at it on TV soon.”

Van Gerwen has not yet made a return to the PDC tour.

However, he is currently expected to have on the US Darts Masters This weekend in New York.
