Mike Tyson’s sad end: Jake Paul, 27, reveals he has decided NOT to knock out the 58-year-old boxing legend – who he stopped punching and bowed to – as fans watch Netflix’s fight for ‘ elder abuse’ and calling it a ‘sad shame’
Jake Paul has revealed he has decided not to beat Mike Tyson in his comprehensive victory over the former heavyweight champion.
The YouTuber turned boxer, 31 years Tyson’s junior, claimed a unanimous decision win in front of a packed AT&T Stadium on Friday evening.
Tyson was unable to match Paul’s energy and his condition deteriorated during the eight-round clash. Despite the veteran’s struggles, it was remarkable to see Paul refrain from striking a decisive blow.
And in the final ten seconds of the fight, he even stepped back and bowed to Tyson, out of respect for the sports royalty, while essentially taking his foot off the accelerator.
After the win, the 27-year-old revealed it was a conscious decision not to inflict unnecessary pain on the 58-year-old, who he said ‘didn’t need to hurt’.
When asked if he had slowed down after noticing Tyson was getting tiring, Paul said, “Yes, definitely. Certainly a little.

The YouTuber even bowed to his 58-year-old opponent in the final stages of the fight
“I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want to hurt anyone who didn’t need to be hurt.”
And speaking to Mail Sport after the fight, Jake’s brother Logan said of Tyson: “I think Jake let him live.”
He added: “He’s tough, proud of him, weathered the storm against a young brute called Jake Paul.’
The disappointing display drew some boos at the finish, while many of those who watched the clash online were left with an empty feeling at the sight of the veteran.
Tyson only played sixteen minutes on Friday. But for those who watched him trudge around the ring with a brace on his right knee, it felt much longer. At some point, “he’s 58” started being popular on X, referring to Iron Mike’s age.
KSI, who fought Paul’s older brother Logan in 2019 and correctly predicted the match would be a no contest, labeled the event “elder abuse.”
“What a sad watch,” he wrote on Instagram. ‘It was all sad. Mike Tyson is twice as old as Jake Paul ffs. It would never EVER be close. I can’t believe this elder abuse was even punished. Just disgusting.’
Likewise, undisputed super welterweight champion Terence Crawford made no impression whatsoever when discussing the fight.

Some fans wondered how the fight was sanctioned considering Tyson’s age
“I love Mike Tyson, but they give him too much credit,” Crawford wrote on X.
“He looked like crap, to train so long and only throw 97 punches, the whole fight is insane. I’m just glad he didn’t get hurt there.”
Several other fans voiced criticism, with one saying: ‘How bloody did a committee pass Mike Tyson through medical services for a sanctioned boxing match, this is sad. Jake Paul gets no credit for this. It’s a shame.’
Another added: ‘This is a sad, sad watch. A mockery to the sport of boxing,” while another fan said: “This is why boxing is a dead sport to me. 60 year old Mike Tyson should not be fighting, how could the boxing commission shamefully allow this to happen.”
Tyson did just enough to make the first the only round he won.
From there, the YouTuber continued to do enough to secure his eleventh victory in twelve fights, but not enough to seriously damage the boxing legend.
The veteran was competing in his first professional match in almost two decades and it showed as he was unable to keep pace with his much younger opponent.
The stats only confirmed what everyone already knew: Tyson landed just 18 of 97 punches, with only four of those shots making contact with Paul’s torso.

While most viewers disapproved of the display, former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew praised Paul for showing Tyson “respect and dignity.”

‘He didn’t go for the KO, he got off him and left him alone. Mike, we all love you King, you are a superhero to all of us from the real fighting world!’
