Molly-Mae hits back at Maebe ‘rip-off’ claims, saying £65 shirt is ‘2 in 1’
MOLLY-MAE Haag has faced criticism over the prices of its Maebe clothing range since its launch last week.
But she has now responded to the outrage by pointing out that many of the items are suitable for a wide range of occasions.
In a video on the Maebe TikTok On the page, Molly used the £65 All Tied Up shirt as an example, as she showed how it is a “two-in-one” design.
“Maebe is all about super versatile pieces,” she said.
“So with the All Tied Up shirt we wanted to give you two shirts in one.
“We have incorporated a tie into the shirt, which, when tied, creates a completely different silhouette.
“It really makes it figure hugging.”
Molly continued to say that she wears it tied up for a “more dressy look,” making it “nice and form-fitting.”
“And for everyday wear, I like to undo it and look super casual,” she added.
The shirt has “oversized shoulder pads,” which helps create a “really boxy effect,” which Molly called “so flattering.”
And it also has ‘really deep cuffs’, which the former Love Island star said she ‘just loves’.
“This shirt is the ultimate wardrobe staple,” she concluded.
While many fans of Molly’s did their best to grab as many items from the range as they could afford, others were left unimpressed by the offering, especially the high prices.
And the critics took to the comments section of Maebe’s video, with one sarcastically writing: “Maebe, it looks like an Asda shirt!”
“Maebe, explain why you charge crazy prices for synthetic materials?” another wondered.
“I had this exact shirt in high school as part of my uniform,” a third insisted.
“I can find this in my dad’s wardrobe,” someone else insisted.
However, others were there to defend Molly and the Maebe designs.
A Molly-Mae fan’s opinion on the Maebe range and its prices
EVER since Molly-Mae Haag, 25, walked into the Love Island villa in 2019, I’ve always been a mega fan.
After hearing the news that she was coming out with a fashion brand, I was naturally excited.
But as much as I hate to admit it, I’m disappointed.
I understand she launched Maebe as a higher end brand. I know it won’t be Shein quality.
But with prices ranging from £35 to £140 I’m definitely not impressed.
Maebe’s ‘ultimate blazer’ costs a whopping £140, while a very simple, plain white T-shirt costs a whopping £35.
Not only this, but the “contour popper top” costs £50, and a seemingly boring white shirt will set you back a whopping £65.
And if that’s not bad enough, £90 for a pair of jeans? I understand paying £50 for a good quality pair of jeans, but £90?!
That’s incredibly high when you consider that you can get Levi’s, a renowned brand that has been around for years, for just a tenner more.
So, am I going to buy anything from Maebe? The only thing I can say to that is that Maebe is (absolutely) not.

“Maebe, you haters need to shop somewhere else if you’re not going to buy anything,” I got back.
“This brand is so elegant, old money and stylish if you don’t understand and see Maebe, it’s not for you, period!” another agreed.
“I can’t wait for the stock to be restocked!!! I love the items! Not just durable, but everyday items too! My order will arrive tomorrow,” said a third.
