As her daughter posed with the fake vehicle, she seemed thrilled with her creation — even before her mom and dad had a turn behind the wheel.

“Why?” Victoria wrote in the caption.

“Yes, thank you, Mrs. T. I know you’re following me!”

And the comments section was filled almost immediately with responses from people, with other mothers admitting that they had found themselves in similar situations at the end of the school year.

“I walked home yesterday with a giant papier-mâché penguin,” one person wrote.

“After first grade, my daughter came home with a tooth loss chart for her class,” added another.

“She was the only child who hadn’t lost any teeth yet!”

“My nephew brought home a homemade ‘bin’ but it had all the classroom trash in it,” said a third.

“This is HILARIOUS!” said someone else.

“My son’s daycare sent us home with a big box he signed. My 3-year-old was on his balance bike and my newborn was in a stroller. Thanks daycare!” sighed another.

People go wild as mom brags about how she’s kept her 2-year-old screen-free since birth

“Oh my, ours even send us a big plastic bag so they can dump all their trash on us,” laughed someone else.

“One of my kids made a big pig that he took home, but he insisted on taking it to school,” wrote another.

“I carried that pig to school and back for weeks!”

Teachers also weighed in on the responses. One wrote: “As a teacher I think this is great!”

“HAHA, as a teacher I’m guilty of this too,” added another.

“But it’s so much fun to hand out and see the parents’ faces,” said a third.

How long should children look at a screen?

Dr. Amanda, an educator and child psychologist, provided general guidance for parents looking to limit screen time.

Age 1-3 years old
How long: 5 minutes per year of life at once

Dr. Gummer says, “If you really hope that your child will learn from the screen time he or she gets, the rule of thumb is that children can concentrate for an average of 5 minutes per year of their lives (so 15 minutes at age 3).”

Age 1+
How long: 1 hour per day

Dr. Gummer says, “For younger children, we find that about 1 hour per day is a reasonable limit to aim for on a normal weekday.

“When you add up the time you spend on mobile devices, TV, computers, and other devices with screens, it may not seem like much (and remember that kids get screen time in school, too).”

Age 2+
How long: 2 hours per day

Dr. Gummer says, “Several sources, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, recommend no more than 2 hours per day (for children 2 years and older).”

Children of all ages
More than two hours per day is excessive use

Dr Gummer says: “A recent study showed some harmful effects in teenagers who spent more than 3 hours a day in front of a screen and considered this as ‘excessive use’.

“Last week everyone in my class went home with creations made from giant cardboard boxes,” wrote someone else.

“Better than our classroom,” joked another.

“We don’t want to leave it lying around either!!” said someone else.

“Know that we are not sorry,” another noted.
