Moment ‘creepy’ Benidorm hotel receptionist ‘sneaks into British mum’s room before sniffing and stealing her underwear’ after setting up secret camera to catch him
This is the shocking moment a Benidorm hotel receptionist allegedly sneaked into a British mother’s room and stole her underwear after setting up a secret camera to catch him.
Rara Armstrong from Gloucester took her 11-year-old son on a family holiday to Benidorm, Spain. She said she felt “creepy” when a hotel worker asked for her number and invited her out for coffee.
The man then left a bottle of prosecco in her room ‘to apologise’. She then decided to set her son’s iPad to answer the door while she and her son were eating, in case he ever came into her room again.
In a “surreal” twist, video shows the receptionist entering the room and appearing to rummage through what Mrs Armstrong claims is her dirty laundry bag.
The footage shows the man, dressed in a neat shirt and trousers, taking something out of the bag that appears to be a thong and smelling it, before putting the item of clothing in his back pocket.

‘I felt horrible about it, I felt so violated. I was there with my son and this man was meant to be [a member of] “The staff,” said Mrs. Armstrong.
She added of the “surreal” moment she captured while on vacation in May: “It was crazy. I didn’t expect anything like that.”
The mother of one said she first met the man when she went to the hotel reception on her first day to ask why her room key wasn’t working.
She claims he then asked her out for coffee, and when she turned him down, he asked for her number instead.
“I felt a little uncomfortable about it and thought, ‘I’m just here now, this is the last thing I need,’” she said.
“But I didn’t file a complaint because I didn’t want to ruin the holiday from the moment we arrived.”
After firmly rejecting the man, Ms Armstrong discovered a few hours later that he had subscribed to her OnlyFans account. She suspects he used her hotel booking details to seek her out.
She said: ‘He was texting me saying, “Oh, I can’t believe you’re in Spain”. At first I didn’t realise it was him.
‘I was like “oh did you see me at the airport or somewhere?” and he was like “yeah you’re at the hotel where I work” and I was like “oh my god”. He was [looking me up] online.
‘I said “this makes me really uncomfortable and it’s really unprofessional, I’m here with my son and this is not acceptable” and he was like “oh I’m so sorry, please don’t tell anyone”. I said “I won’t, but please leave me alone”.’
She claims the employee found her too “sexy” to resist after she yelled at him for asking her out.
When they returned from dinner on their last night and found a bottle of prosecco in the room, Mrs Armstrong decided to set up her son’s iPad to film the door opening in case he came back in.
Ms Armstrong messaged him on OnlyFans to confirm that he was the one who had delivered the package, to which the man reportedly replied that he was sorry for upsetting you.
After filming him entering her room and snooping around, she said she was angry with herself for not reporting him when he behaved “inappropriately” on the first day.
She said she was taking her son to The reception of a neighbouring hotel and the staff there arranged for her and her son to stay in a new room for the last night of their holiday, before returning to the UK the next day.

After filming him entering her room and snooping around, Ms Armstrong said she was annoyed that she had not reported the employee when he behaved ‘inappropriately’ by asking her out on her first day.
LoveHolidays, the company she booked the holiday with, apologised for her ordeal and claimed the hotel had immediately fired the man the following morning after she reported it to staff.
However, they refuse any refund or compensation for her holiday because she did not report the incident to them or the police before returning home.
Ms Armstrong claims she was unable to report the incident to police because it occurred on her last day of travel and she did not want to miss her flight.
Since returning to the UK, Ms Armstrong has been unable to file a police report in Spain. She says the hotel will not refund her accommodation costs or offer any compensation due to the lack of a police report.
Ms Armstrong also claims that her hotel asked her to report the incident to the police, but they never did and instead asked her not to show the video to anyone.
“It’s been a nightmare trying to get any kind of justice out of it,” she said.
She now hopes to warn other women to report ‘creeps’ immediately and possibly set up cameras if they suspect something is wrong.
Ms Armstrong said: ‘My advice to others would be to just be very vigilant. If someone is acting creepy, report it straight away. Maybe get a door lock or something.
“And maybe it’s a good idea to record your room. Then you have proof and the hotel can’t deny that it happened.”
The hotel declined to comment.
LoveHolidays explained that Ms Armstrong had not reported the issue to them whilst she was still on holiday and therefore had no way of supporting her or advising her on how to report the issue to the police at the time.
They indicated that LoveHolidays does not offer compensation for this reason.
A LoveHolidays spokesperson said: ‘We are very sorry to hear about what Ms Armstrong experienced during her holiday.
Unfortunately, we were not informed of the incident while she was on holiday and therefore were unable to provide her with any support or advice on reporting the incident to the police during her stay.
“We have thoroughly investigated the problem at the hotel and are confident that appropriate measures have been taken to ensure this does not happen again.”
