NEW DELHI: I call it a moment of pride for the Telugu community Across the world, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu congratulated Naidu J.D. Vance and Indian-origin woman Usha Chilukuri Vance, after her husband was elected Vice President of the United States in the 2024 elections.
“His (JD Vance) win marks a historic moment as Ms. Usha Vancewho has roots in Andhra Pradesh, will become the first woman of Telugu heritage to serve as the Second Lady of the US,” Naidu tweeted.
“I look forward to the opportunity to invite them to visit Andhra Pradesh,” he added.

He also congratulated Donald Trump on his historic victory in the American presidential elections.
“I congratulate Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential elections and wish him success as he prepares to lead his country forward. His first term marked a significant strengthening of the Indo-US partnership. Under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and President Trump, I am confident that our two nations will further strengthen their ties and promote greater cooperation,” he wrote on X.
India’s Usha Vance will make history as the first woman of Telugu descent to hold such an influential position in the US. Her remarkable journey from Andhra Pradesh to the heart of American politics has inspired many, especially within the United States Indian-American community.
