Dozens of migrants were seen in shocking images that jump from a boat and run on a beach for tourists on a Greek holiday island.
Greek authorities have saved more than 500 migrants from the southern islands of the land of Crete and Gavdos in five separate maritime incidents since Friday, according to a statement released on Sunday by the Greek coastguard.
In one clip, recorded on Sunday morning on Diskos Beach in southern Crete, a group of asylum seekers was crammed into a small boat while it floated at the coastline.
They were then filmed to climb the ship and jump into the water while tourists and local families in the neighborhood sunbathe.
But this was not the only incident of his kind that took place during the weekend. The Greek Coast Guard revealed on Sunday that it carried out various rescue operations in the area.
The most important operation took place on Sunday, when more than 430 migrants were found on Drift 25 Nautical miles south of Gavdos, Greece‘SES southern island.
The large-scale rescue operation was performed by the Greek authorities and responded to raised sea arrangements from northeastern Libya, an important starting point for migrants trying to reach Europe.
In a separate incident, also on Sunday, the Frontex Border Agency of the European Union saved 96 migrants on board two Crete boats, the coast guard said.

The migrants are now being taken to Crete, the largest and most densely populated island in Greece.
According to local reports, just a few hours before, another 67 refugees were seen near Gavdos who start at the start of a ship on the flag of the Marshall Islands.
The group was then transferred to the port of Paleochora in Chania, a city on the northwest coast of Crete.
Another rescue operation also took place during the weekend near Kala Limeni, Heraklion, Crete. There, 73 asylum seekers were picked up from a cargo ship that flew the Portuguese flag before they were transported to the nearest port.
Two more incidents of disembarkation were registered in coastal areas of Heraklion, who saw 96 people on Loutra Beach, and another 67 in the Lentas area, according to Protothema.
According to the coast guard, 7,300 asylum seekers reached Gavdos and Crete this year compared to less than 5,000 last year.
More than 2500 arrivals have been registered since June alone.
Because GAVDOS no significant accommodation facilities is missing, all migrants are housed in municipal buildings or transferred to Crete.
According to the authorities, the rescued migrants include nationals from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, in particular from war-torn regions, Egypt and Bangladesh.
These rescues emphasize the continuous use of dangerous zeroutes by migrants who flee conflicts and poverty in search of safety and opportunities in Europe.

At Libya it insisted on working more closely with Greece and the EU to prevent migrants from sailing from there or returning before they leave Libyan territorial waters.
Rapetritis is now planned to have discussions with the non-recognized government in Tripoli on July 15.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also raised the issue with EU opposites in Brussels last month.
Mitsotakis has announced that two Greek naval ships outside of Libyan waters will be used to stop the power.
The North African country has been deeply distributed since the DATO supported by the 2011 that the old leader Moamer Kadhafi has overthrown and killed.
