Netherrealm Studios has announced that Khaos rules extension for Mortal Kombat-1, which includes a brand new story mode, the introduction of Kombat Pack 2, and the return of a fan-favorite feature from past series.
The four-minute trailer for the Khaos rules expansions showcases the brand new story mode, which centers on a version of Havik from an alternate (presumably even more twisted) timeline as the primary antagonist. Naturally, it’s up to the series’ roster of limb-slicing warriors to put a stop to his plans.
As always, Netherrealm’s penchant for high graphical quality and gratuitous violence is clearly visible here, so Mortal Kombat-1 Fans will likely feast on this new story content when Khaos rules will be launched on September 24, 2024.
In addition to the all-new story, Khaos rules will also see the introduction of Kombat Pack 2. Like the first, this will add a total of six characters to Mortal Kombat-1 as downloadable content. Three of them – Sektor, Cyrax and Noob Saibot – will arrive on the day of release.
Then there are three guest characters whose release dates have not yet been announced. They will Shout Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian (with the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day’s T-1000 (played by Robert Patrick). The Khaos rules The bundle also includes the first Kombat Pack featuring Quan-Chi, Ermac, Takeda, Omni-Man, Homelander, and Peacemaker.
Finally, Khaos rules is reintroducing a fan-favorite feature as a free update: Animalities. If you didn’t know, these are special Fatality animations where your fighter transforms into a creature to brutally dismember your opponent at the end of the match. The trailer shows off a hyena, a pufferfish, a praying mantis, and more, and they’re all predictably gruesome.
