On June 6, an Indiana mother was shocked and scared when she thought her 7-day-old daughter had been abducted from her daycare center.

Sabriya Miles had just dropped off her 4-year-old son at a daycare in Evansville, Indiana, leaving her newborn Adrian in the backseat of her gold Chevy when she saw a stranger get into her car and drive away.

But it happened very unexpectedly: the car was seized. According to the police, the seizing agent did not know that there was a baby in the car when he took the car.

Miles, who has two other children, said she watched in horror as the stranger drove away in her car. She feared her newborn baby had been kidnapped.

Together with another mother, she ran after the car, but to no avail. The new mother panicked and reported a possible kidnapping to the local police.

Miles said she was speechless for several minutes as she and another mother tried to chase after the car.

“I couldn’t talk, I was just too frustrated and I was crying,” Miles told WFIE.

‘I carried my baby for nine months and now I’ve lost her?’

She claims she had no warning that her car would be impounded before the repossessor made off with her newborn daughter.

Fortunately, after driving a few kilometers, the unknown driver stopped and saw the newborn and called the police to pick up the child.
