- This follows a devastating attack earlier in 2025
- The e-mail confirms a link between the M&S and co-op attacks
Marks and Spencer was one of the British retailers who have suffered devastating cyber attacks Earlier in 2025, with services and stores that are confronted with disruption, as well as online orders that were suspended.
In the midst of all this, reports of the BBC Claim company CEO Stuart Machin was personal e -mails sent by the attackers who were discussed and invite him to start negotiating the ransom.
“We have march the roads of China all the way to the United Kingdom and have mercilessly raped and coded all the servers,” the hackers wrote. ‘You want to talk the dragon, so please go to [our darknet website]. “
“Let’s start the party”
The group, which calls itself ‘Dragonforce’, also claimed responsibility for the Cooperative attackWho came around a similar time – which made this e -mail the first official link between the two incidents.
So far, little is known for the group itself, but the E -mails confirm that this was a ransomware attack, something that M&S has refused to comment so far.
It was sent through a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee -based employee, and it seems as if this employee has also been hacked as part of the wider attack – and the Indian IT service is Research whether it was the origin for the M&S cyber attack.
The e -mail indicated an acquaintance of the company’s cyber insurance policy, so that the company is taunting; “We know that we can both help each other :))”. The e -mail also contained a link to start Ransom negotiations; “Let’s start the party. Send us a message, we will make this quickly and easily for us.”
We contacted Marks and Spencer for comments, who refused and offered the following;
“We cannot comment on details or speculation about the cyber incident, and we are advised not to do that.”
