M&S fans rave about £69 winter coat that ‘feels more like a £200 coat’
POPULAR retailer Marks & Spencer has been given top marks for a winter coat that feels luxurious – without the hefty price tag.
In recent years, the supermarket has really stepped up its fashion game – whether it’s a ‘belly-hiding’ Christmas party dress or a must-have sequin blazer ideal for the holidays.
So it’s no surprise that shoppers are also loving one of M&S’s latest additions to the aisles: the Twill Single Breasted Relaxed Coat.
Loyal customers claim the winter basic ‘feels like a £200 coat’, and they are showered with compliments ‘every time’ they wear it.
The beautiful piece comes in a striking forest green color and features a single-breasted design with a refined collar and two smart buttons – a coat that will truly never go out of style.
Retailing at £69, this garment has two handy side pockets and a loose fit – ideal for layering over chunky knits as temperatures start to drop and we enter the winter season.
The versatile garment is ideal for everyday use and can be worn both casually and chicly, depending on the occasion.
On the way to the office? Combine the jacket with smart boots, black trousers, a comfortable scarf and a button-up shirt – and you are the definition of chic.
Do you have a date to look forward to? This green garment looks beautiful in combination with boots with heels (or heels, if the weather is not too harsh) and a nice dress underneath.
Fashion-conscious fashionistas can’t stop singing praises about the ”exquisite” cut and affordable price, with one shopper writing: ”Can be worn for formal and informal occasions. Color is great.”
Another happy customer said: “Bought for the color and I’m not disappointed.
“Wonderfully soft and very comfortable to wear.”
One shopper was also just as satisfied and wrote: “Beautiful fully lined winter coat and designed to also allow you to wear a winter sweater.”
Another M&S shopper was just as excited, writing: “I love the color of my new coat and it is warm.
”Perfect length can be worn with long boots and ankle boots.”
Why everyone loves M&S
Deputy fashion editor Abby McHale revealed to Fabulous why M&S is the store of the moment. She explained:
“M&S has really pulled out all the stops this season, there are so many great products to be excited about.
“A brand once known for its ‘frumpy fashion’, that idea has long since disappeared and is now one of the leading retailers for women’s clothing.
“The handbag range in particular is super strong: they sell 170% versus plan, with many more designer dupes for just a fraction of the price.
“The brand is also now number 1 in terms of style perceptions, compared to last year’s number 3. This comes from a very strong design team focused on modernizing the brand, taking into account not only how the pieces look, but also how easy they are to wear.
“Price is also a big factor as you can get lots of good quality pieces, all for under £30.
“After a sneak peek at the upcoming collection, there are so many more fantastic pieces to keep an eye out for in the coming months.
“Think leopard print dresses, colorful co-ords, embroidered boho jackets, plus lots of swimwear and great accessories, as well as great wardrobe staples that will last year after year.”
”Beautiful colour. Nice jacket, fits nicely, not on the large side in my humble opinion,” someone else praised the quality.
”It’s not a heavy/warm jacket, but that’s what I wanted. If you like to be warm, you probably need a sweater underneath.”
Highlighting the fantastic price, one reviewer said: “Feels more like a £200 jacket.
“I get compliments every time I wear it.”
However, despite the largely positive feedback on the jacket – which has already sold out in some sizes – there was also some criticism, as one customer advised it would be best to ”take one size smaller” as the jacket is quite ”large” is. ‘.
