Ms. Rachel reveals the real reason she added THAT headband to her famous look
She is known for her denim dungarees, pink T-shirt and pink headband.
But children’s TV favorite Rachel has revealed why she added the hair accessory to her now infamous look – and it’s not what people thought.
“Why did you decide to wear a headband for the Mrs. Rachel outfit?” she said inside her TikTok video from off-screen, holding up the knotted headband.
She then ended up on the camera screen, her dark brown hair sticking up unevenly around her face.
Ms. Rachel then put on the headband, pushing the hairs down.
“It’s just cute,” she joked.

She added in the caption: “True story.
“A busy mom with no time to wash hair + lots of short hair – threw on a headband and that’s how it started.”
The comments section was immediately filled with people praising the TV star for her honesty.
“Hahahahaha this is so relatable OMG,” one person wrote.
“I love it Miss Rachel! Working on it!” another added.
“I started wearing headbands after I went to the grocery store one time and an older man walked past me and said to his wife, ‘Looks like she got electrocuted!'” a third commented.
“Miss Rachel, those baby hairs are curly!!” said someone else.
“Just mist them with some water and then a little hairspray.”
“That makes sense! I’ll try!!!” Rachel replied.
“As a curly haired girl, baby hair is the real enemy,” sighed another.
“My husband jokes that to our son, Mrs. Rachel, I’m just me with better hair,” someone else laughed.
“I’ll show him this!”
Who is Mrs. Rachel?
SHE is perhaps the most famous person on children’s television right now, and has just released a slew of toys and books for her fans.
But where exactly did Ms. Rachel come from, and how did she find fame?
Ms. Rachel’s real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, and she worked as a music teacher at a public kindergarten in New York before starting her YouTube channel.
The Songs for Littles channel was created after she discovered that there were hardly any resources for her son, who had a speech delay.
The tunes, composed of classic nursery rhymes and children’s songs, with a twist, were composed by Rachel and her husband, Broadway composer Aron Accurso.
She also started on TikTok, where she gained more than two and a half million followers by March 2023.
She has also faced her fair share of controversies, such as when she offered to sell Cameo videos to raise money for Save the Children – naming the Gaza Strip, Sudan, Ukraine and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Rachel said she was ‘bullied online’ over the move and has since disabled the comments on some of her Instagram, TikTok and YouTube posts.
The highly anticipated Mrs. Rachel toy was released in September and is expected to be one of the biggest sellers this Christmas.
As another insisted: “NEVER doubt Ms. Rachel’s choices!”
Ms. Rachel has become so synonymous with her outfit that when the highly anticipated dolls of her were released, they all wore the pink top, headband and denim dungarees.
The same goes for the books, which caused near-hysteria among parents desperate for books for their Mrs. Rachel-crazed kids when they hit the shelves.
In one previous TikTok video, she explained that she started wearing the dungarees when she was teaching in person in New York.
She admitted that the all-in-ones made her feel “fun and childlike.”
“And I’ve always loved pink, I just think it’s a really beautiful color,” Rachel added.
