M&S shoppers love a classic black dress that’s perfect for autumn days or evenings
FASHIONISTAS are rushing to Marks & Spencer this autumn for a new black dress that is ‘perfect for any occasion’.
Women even say they wear it to work and formal events, as well as to dinners with friends and even funerals.
The M&S Collection Jersey Midi Column Dress isn’t a bank breaker either.
It costs £29.50 each and is available in sizes 6 to 24, and in three lengths: petite, regular and tall.
A blurb reads: “This jersey column dress is a versatile piece for your wardrobe.
“It’s made in a regular fit, with extra stretch for comfort.

“The long-sleeved design is complete with a round neckline and a midi-length hem.”
Shoppers have taken to the review section to rate their fall purchase.
“This is a beautiful dress,” one person beamed.
“It looks really great on its own, or whatever your style is.
“I prefer a more casual look, worn with ankle boots, a wide belt and scarf, which looks great.
“It is of excellent quality, has a great fit and is very flattering.”
Others raved about the “elegant” fit that goes well with a “gold bracelet and a gold chain to spice it up a bit.”
Another customer reviewed: “It arrived messed up in the bag, but hanging on a hanger, and by morning the folds were falling out.
“I tried it on and it’s perfect; doesn’t stick, hangs well, looks good, hides bumps and bumps, and it will work on many occasions.
The main consensus is that it is a “good plain dress that is great for casual and formal occasions”.

Fantastic fashion editor on fall trends
Do you want to look fantastic this season? Then listen…
Here, Fabulous’ fashion editor, Clemmie Fieldsend, says these are the top 5 trends from the hottest catwalk designers for Fall 2024.
BOHO: The boho revival is a much-needed breath of fresh air for autumn and means you can wear your sheer tops, girly dresses and big jeans with chunky boots.
But if the clothes aren’t for you, think big accessories like sloppy tote bags, big earrings and bigger bracelets.
TEXTURE: Whether it’s smooth leather, lush faux fur or soft suede, textures are everywhere this season.
They add depth to your look, making you stand out and also look more expensive.
BURGUNDY: Maroon, oxblood, berry: whatever you call it in fashion, it’s red this fall.
The deep and rich color is everywhere and works best with shades of gray, black, dark blue and from head to toe.
LADY LIKE: Matching top and cardigan sets and pencil skirts sound dated, but they go hand in hand with being ladylike.
Pair with satin cami dresses and fitted blazers for an ultra-feminine look.
LEOPARD PRINT: According to Tagwalk, 75% of the runway this season was leopard print – a vast majority.
It crept its way into last season, but it’s widespread in autumn and all over the high street, whether it’s shoes or floor-sweeping jackets, it’s a must-have trend.
This isn’t the only autumn purchase M&S shoppers have been excited about lately.
Last month, several rushed to buy a Chanel-inspired ‘chic’ cardigan, as seen in Lorraine.
Priced at just £35, the textured cotton-blend crew neck cardigan was hailed as a must-have for autumn and winter.
And it’s a fraction of Chanel’s four-figure outerwear figure.
