Mum, 82, ‘looks like she’s 50 – skin is smooth’ thanks to £1.49 supermarket purchase
An 82-year-old woman has revealed how she keeps her skin healthy and looking youthful.
Now she wants to let other beauty fans know that they don’t have to buy expensive skin care products to stay looking young.
The mother, who was filmed by her daughter for a TikTok video, said she uses three products daily.
The video was shared on the daughter’s account named @mondayprojectco and it has since gone viral with over 1.3 million views.
The daughter, who is a personal stylist and shopper, is the first to ask her mother if her skin care routine is expensive?
The mother replied that it was “very cheap.”
She first told me that she uses Redwin Sorbolene as a cleanser and that she usually buys a large pot of it, which you can buy on eBay for around £7.52.
This usually comes in the form of a body wash and helps restore the skin thanks to the fragrant and soap-free liquid that also contains vitamin E.
She also uses an SPF 50 and applies it to her skin three times a day in the summer.
The mother says, “Sunscreen every day. SPF 50 two or three times a day in the summer. You have to keep that up in the summer.”
She then tells me that she uses NIVEA cream, which comes in a blue jar.
This is available to purchase from stores such as Boots for £1.49.
About the cream, the mother says: “That’s all I’ve been using for 40 years.”
In the comments, the daughter also shared that she puts sunscreen on her face three times a day when she works in the garden.
The viral TikTok video prompted many fans to take to the comments to share their thoughts.
Many have been eager to get their hands on her skin care products because she looks so amazing.
One added: “I am 66, have no wrinkles and use sorbolene. Only the expensive products dry out your face and make you have to buy more and more expensive creams to ‘fix’ it.”
Someone else wrote: “My grandmother was 77 when she died and she used Nivea her whole life.
“I still have her Nivea and her fingerprints in it.”
Another asked: “So she washes off her makeup three times a day and then reapplies sunscreen?”
To which the daughter replied, “Let me see. She doesn’t wear makeup unless she’s going out. I think reapplying it is mostly for gardening.”
A beauty fan added: “I use that Nivea cream. I read an article comparing Nivea cream to a very expensive cream.
“Nivea has just as much moisture as the more expensive ones and costs about $10.”
How to Reverse Aging in Just 2 Weeks, According to the Royal’s Go-To Nutritionist
Gabriela Peacock, who lives in LONDON, helped Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie, among others, with the preparations for their wedding.
She told Fabulous: “The science is clear that we all have the power to make simple, life-changing changes to better ourselves in the future, regardless of our genetic makeup.
“The reality is that we all have unhealthy eating habits from time to time, like eating processed foods, smoking, drinking too much alcohol, breathing in city pollutants and even drinking water from plastic bottles – none of which are good for us.
“All of this only promotes the aging process, but we all have the potential to change this.”
It may be hard, but try to avoid sugary carbs. They fuel chronic inflammation, one of the biggest enemies of reversing aging.
While you will gain weight if you eat them regularly, it also affects your energy levels and hormone levels, which in turn affects how you look and feel.
Regardless of your age or health condition, it’s never too late to reverse the rate at which you age and embrace the energy and vitality of your younger years.
Antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C and E, are essential in neutralizing free radicals, the culprits behind premature aging.
Including a variety of fruits and vegetables in your diet creates a powerful source of antioxidants.
Omega-3 fatty acids, found in abundance in oily fish such as salmon and flaxseed, are essential for maintaining skin elasticity and hydration.
Omega-3 fatty acids nourish your skin, retain moisture and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Collagen, a structural protein that decreases in quantity as you age, can be supplemented with collagen-rich foods, such as bone broth and lean protein sources.
