Mumbai Police files case against passenger for using e-cigarette on IndiGo flight | India News – Times of India
NEW DELHI: The Mumbai Police have submitted an application case against a person who was caught using an electronic cigarette during a IndiGo flightaccording to a statement released by police on Friday.
The incident took place around 9 pm on July 8, while the flight was en route from Coimbatore to Mumbai, an official said.
A senior cabin crew member saw smoke coming from one of the seats and walked over to the passengerwho shifted her attention to another seat, the official said.
“The passenger, Kanishksingh Rajput, admitted a a cigarette,” he said.
Upon landing in Mumbai, Rajput was arrested and taken to the airport police station where a case was registered against him under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Aircraft Rules, as confirmed by the official.
