One mum claims she’s got the trick to keeping your house tidy, and other parents can’t get enough – especially as it only costs 25p.

The mother, known as @earlyyearsfinds on TikTok, shared a video of her grocery store discovery and showed exactly how she uses the video at home.

Other mothers shared how they use the trick for all sorts of other purposes, including food preservation.

The Early Years Finds account captioned the video: “My toy storage trick! 25p each from Aldi.”

She filmed herself grabbing the single-use reusable bags from the vegetable aisle.

Aldi, the UK’s fifth largest supermarket, was one of the first supermarkets to ban single-use plastic bags for fruit and vegetables.

Instead, customers are encouraged to bring their own containers or purchase a reusable drawstring bag for fruits and vegetables.

But according to the Early Years Finds account, these bags are also great for tidying away the kids’ toys.

She said she mainly uses them for the small bits and pieces, like puzzles.

And she’s not alone, as many parents have taken to the comments to share how they use these bags. They’re also available from Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

One mom said they “are also great as a bath sponge and toy.”

While another parent added: “I have a bunch of these reusable bags from Sainsbury’s and use them as a changing bag and a day out bag.

“So much better and organized.”

A parental account added: “That’s where I keep all my old pasta and rice.”

They can also be great for personal use, as one TikTok comment read: “I use them in my backpack so everything stays together and I don’t have to search for anything.”

And they’re great for storing food, as one fan of the reusable bags wrote: “I got mine from Lidl and I put potatoes in them.”

“Great for travel, use as cubes,” said someone else.

But it’s not just the reusable bags that are great for storing the kids’ toys, the “large ziplock sandwich bags” work too.

The ‘right’ way to store food

1. Use airtight containers

This helps prevent exposure to air, which can cause your food to spoil. A glass container can be more hygienic and a more sustainable option.

2. Label everything

Labeling your food helps you keep track of expiration dates and prevent food waste.

3. Store similar items together

This makes it easier to find what you are looking for. Use refrigerator dividers or reusable bags to divide your refrigerator.

4. Use the refrigerator and freezer wisely

Keep raw meat on the bottom shelf to avoid contamination. For long-term storage, it is best to keep it in the freezer.

5. Rotate your inventory

Put newer items at the back and bring older items to the front. This means you can notice the foods you should eat first.
