Mums rage over Poundland’s ‘rotten’ advent calendar which they thought was ‘for dogs’
PARENTS are furious after trying a chocolate advent calendar from Poundland that tastes ‘absolutely rotten’.
A mother, from Great Britain, explained that her children had received the €1 milk chocolate Advent calendar from a relative during the holidays.
She claimed that what she expected to be delicious sweet treats behind every door was actually “so grim” that she assumed the calendar was for dogs.
Talisa Jade Moss was clearly extremely disgusted and took to social media to warn others, leaving many open-mouthed.
Post on BARGAIN LOVERS Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M, Primark, The Rangea public Facebook group with 579,900 members, Talisa shared a get it of the Merry Christmas calendar, which costs just £1 from the much-loved retailer.
Alongside the post, Talisa wrote: “Anyone with one of these (Poundland)… I would take it back or throw it away…

“I didn’t buy them, they were given to my children by a relative.
“They are marketed as ‘chocolate flavored treats’ and are absolutely rotten.
“I even checked the back because I assumed it had to be for dogs because it was so grimy, but it is definitely for human consumption…”
She warned chocolate lovers: “AVOID UNLESS YOU HAVE NO FLAVORS!!”
After Googling the Advent calendar, which lists 24 “chocolate flavored treats,” she later added: “Definitely NOT marketed to dogs/pets.”
The ‘chocolate’ treats contain sugar, hydrogenated palm oil, cocoa power, demineralized whey powder, skimmed milk powder, emulsifier, flavorings and salt.
Talisa also claimed: “I checked Poundland’s website and they are made by Turner Confectionary in Bradford.”
Talisa’s post has clearly left many open-mouthed as it quickly racked up over 100 likes and 175 comments.
An ex-employee on Poundland prices
Holly Laing22, from Northampton, has revealed she worked in Poundland and often heard customers say the same nasty thing.
Holly claimed she worked for Poundland as a Christmas temp for three months in 2015.
She said customers would become annoyed if products individually cost more than £1.
In a comedy video, Holly reenacted a scenario that often occurred during her shift in the bargain shop, where customers were always baffled and annoyed that items could cost more than £1.
Holly uploaded her video with the caption “I’ve heard this a lot”, saying: “POV: Not everything costs £1 in Poundland”.
Holly explained that customers would often say to her: ‘But this is the pound shop, isn’t it?’
“That is very misleading, I will only pay for that if it is a pound.”
“Disgusting, what a rip off.”
Mother’s vape
Many other parents were just as shocked by the chocolate and flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.
One woman wrote: “I opened the first door and there is nothing, the ‘chocolate’ has all fallen to the bottom, the best place for it, it’s terrible.”
