Rachel (@hairbyrayyycheelll) has more than 10,000 followers on TikTok, where she gives insights into her life.

She went viral on the social media app when she shared the controversial rules she set for guests ahead of her wedding.

Many people said they would not attend the ceremony if they were invited, while others defended her demands.

NON-NEGOTIABLE NO-NOS

Countless guests asked if they could bring their children, but Rachel only made an exception for the flower girl and ring bearer, who went home immediately after the ceremony.

She and her husband did not want any children under 21 to be present because there was a lake at the reception.

Rule number two, however, was the biggest “drama starter,” as she demanded that the groomsmen not drink alcohol before the ceremony.

Rachel argued that because they had spent “so much money and time” on her big day, they should wait until later in the day to drink.

Also asking if you could bring someone to the wedding, if no one was listed on the invitation, was taboo.

She said it was stressful to have to say no, but she didn’t want strangers at the meeting.

Daring dress code for brides causes a stir on the internet!

There were also some dress codes for the bride: they were allowed to wear neutral colours and guests were not allowed to wear jeans.

Rachel said they got “backlash” for being so strict about what people could wear, but that was because she wanted her wedding photos to look a certain way.

Her final rule – no standing in the aisle to take photos – was broken, ruining her professional snaps.

“There was someone standing in the middle of our aisle and she’s in the background of all our photos,” Rachel fumed.

You can’t please everyone

Nearly 10 million people watched the video and thousands took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

“LOL, if my kids aren’t invited, I’m not invited. We don’t have the luxury of a babysitter,” someone said.

“I literally wouldn’t go if I couldn’t bring a date,” wrote another. “I have the worst social anxiety.

“I just went there without a date and it sucked. Never again.”

“My goodness, I’m surprised anyone showed up!” said a third.

“Most people hate weddings anyway, with all the rules! [laughing].”

While many people complained about the rules, others said they would have the same requirements for guests at their wedding.

“These rules are reasonable, people are so angry, and why?” someone asked.

“I think the boy is fine,” said another.

“Children complain when they are tired and that can distract the bride and groom. I am going to apply that same rule someday.”

“I’m going to have a strict dress code, I’ve been to too many weddings in my neighborhood where people wore jeans,” wrote a third.

“Your wedding, your rules!” added another. “People, you do you, not your wedding. There’s nothing wrong with your rules!”
