Moulton is the editorial director at affordable luxury cosmetics company Beauty Pie.

In an interview with The US Sun, she shared the secret to skin rejuvenation.

CLEAR IDEA

Moulton said SPF is the “number one ingredient” that should be used routinely to combat the signs of aging.

However, it is most effective when you combine it with some other beauty products.

One of these is vitamin C, a skin brightening agent.

“Vitamin C is an antioxidant-rich ingredient that helps fight free radical damage caused by environmental factors like pollution and blue rays,” she said.

“To really boost the benefits of this ingredient, I recommend using Azelaic Acid or Bakuchiol, which have the same anti-aging effects as Retinol.”

The active ingredients are not suitable for young people.

Vitamin C and exfoliants such as BHAs and AHAs should not be used by persons under the age of 18 as they can cause unnecessary irritation.

“Retinol is often a much stronger ingredient,” Moulton says.

My German grandmother hardly wears makeup, but she instilled a love for one skin care product – we swear it’s her fountain of youth

“We recommend that you wait until you are 25 or older to ensure you receive your benefits when you need them most.

“If used too early, the benefits of the ingredient may be negated.”

HYDRATING HACK

Moulton recommended restoring the skin’s youthful firmness by using hyaluronic acid.

The ingredient is produced naturally by the body and is safe to use with most other skin care products

“It’s a great product to use in conjunction with salicylic acid (BHA/exfoliator) to help remove fine lines, pigmentation and stubborn spots,” she said.

Hyaluronic acid helps the skin retain moisture without peeling or damaging the skin barrier.

“When working together, they can infuse your skin with much-needed hydration, leaving your skin plump and with a youthful glow.

“Hyaluronic acid can be used by persons aged 12 years and over.

“It helps the skin retain moisture without peeling or compromising the skin barrier, which is the risk young people run when they use heavy-duty substances too early.”

MYTH BREAKING

Nicola Moulton previously revealed that skincare doesn’t have to be expensive to be good quality.

She said using more of a product than the recommended guidelines does not make it more effective.

Many people don’t pay attention to the expiration date of their skin care products.

However, this is a major problem because a product that has passed its expiration date may be less effective or cause side effects.

She added that it’s important to educate yourself on which ingredients can be used together to achieve the best results for your skin.
