A three -year -old mother beat the early release of her former offensive partner who controlled her life for 14 years.

Evil Kevin Jones, 43, isolated Lucy Buxton of friends and family, forbade her to wear revealing clothing, constantly checked her phone and even stopped her from having her hair cut.

In March last year, after he had driven their car in a main road, he barely met, he was imprisoned for 3.5 years for the dangerous driving of a motor vehicle and intimidation to bring a person out of fear of violence. He also received a lifelong house ban.

Nevertheless, the criminal will be released in August this year. Only ten months after his sentence.

Lucy, 35, from Derby, is terrified Jones will seek revenge and hurt her and their children.

She says: ‘When I had to call the probation service a few weeks ago, and told me that KEV would be released early, I burst into tears.

‘Ten months for a three and a half years in prison? Is that all that I was worth?

‘I didn’t have time to heal, no time to recover and hardly enough time to enjoy my life without looking over my shoulder.

‘Kevin abused me for 14 years and I and my children only get freedom for 10 months.

“He comes from prison and we’re going back to one.

“The fear he will find us and hurt us is paralyzing.

“Where are our rights, our freedom? He cannot be rehabilitated after that time, or never.

‘Hearing Labor’s plans makes me sick in my stomach.

‘It is not a deterrent for dangerous perpetrators such as Kevin.

‘Before we know it, abusers will not be checked at all, which means that we run an extreme risk.

“It means that more women will die.

Lucy, started dating Jones in 2010 after a meeting during a night out.

A few months later they lived together.

Then, on New Year’s Eve that year, Jones turned again after Lucy complained that he had forgotten to put the bedding in the dryer.

He dived to her and hit a kitchen cupboard above her head.

After their eldest son arrived in February 2012, Jones did not lift a finger.

Instead, he spent most nights in the pub.

Lucy says: ‘While I did all the childcare, he hated the attention I gave our baby.

“And when our second son was born in January 2013, when I asked him for help, he would tell me that I would” continue. “

Shortly after Lucy discovered that Jones had a gambling problem.

He had cut hundreds of kilos on slot machines and horse races.

Then Jones started dictating what Lucy was wearing.

‘I spent hours while he read them all out loud.

When their youngest boy was born in 2018, Lucy claims that she barely survived.

She often tried to end the relationship.

Lucy says: ‘One day I said he would leave.

“He did that, but he crept back into the house in the middle of the night, woke me up and said,” Just remember that I can get to you anywhere. “

‘His threats are horrified. I didn’t feel safe in my own house.

‘Then my family begged me to leave.

“But I had made peace with myself that the only way I would get out of the relationship was one of us.”

Months later Lucy received an e -mail that was supposedly told of social services and told her that she was being investigated for neglect of children.

But the letter was full of spelling and grammatical errors.

Lucy says: ‘I soon realized that it was fake.

“I knew KEV was behind it.”

In the end Jones had so many debts, Lucy struggled to pay the rent every month.

Three years passed and in July 2021 Lucy’s sister gave her a birthday voucher to have her hair done.

She remembers: ‘At home at home, after she had just cut it a few centimeters, KEV went crazy.

“Told me that I looked ridiculous and didn’t spoke to me for days.

“Made confidence that I had left disappear.”

Then, in September 2023, while their children were in school, Lucy found drugs in her bedroom.

While she started rinsing them through the toilet, Jones appeared.

She remembers: ‘He pinned me against the wall and kneaded me in the chest and wriggled me.

“He shouted at me to drop it. Unable to breathe, I did that.

‘That night Kev refused to let me sleep.

“Pestled me to give him money.

“He woke me up for four days.

‘Even threatened to let me give in sections.

“At this point I was so lack of sleep that I could hardly function.”

The following year, in March 2024, Jones returned from a whole night of Bender.

After accusing Lucy of cheating, he closed the doors and put the keys in his pocket.

For hours, while the children tried to sleep, he raged, checked Lucy’s phone and refused to let her sleep.

The next morning, after dropping the boys at school, Jones drove home at 100 mph at home.

Lucy remembers: ‘When I begged him to delay, he hit me in the face.

Moments later, Jones rushed to a busy double lane to the traffic.

When he came to a halt, Jones threw Lucy’s phone and keys to her.

With her hair cut into a bob, Lucy Bravely attended his conviction.

‘I finally have my voice and freedom back and I will use it to help others.

‘With those who are still in domestic violence, the new plans give them no confidence to come forward and report their abusers.

‘They already feel that there is no help and work cuts a little hope that they might have had.
