My bath is broken after using a 70p Tesco purchase – I could cry at how bad it looks
A WOMAN has told how a common Tesco product destroyed her bathtub after she tried to clean it.
Gemma Louise took to Facebook to upload a photo of the bathtub after handbag-friendly bleach from the major supermarket reportedly left brown stains on the white surface.
“I could cry,” Louise said in her message, shared on the popular website Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Page.
According to the cleaning fan, she poured Tesco’s 70p bleach into her bathtub and the stains immediately started forming.
Despite attempts to rinse the solution off, the damage was already done when Louise sought advice on the popular site.
”Because I could cry, I literally used Tesco bleach to clean my bath this morning.
”I never left it for a while, it was an orange/brown color straight away,” Mrs Hinch-fan shouted to the other members.
”I tried to wash it off straight away (you can see where the stains are by rubbing it) and my bath is completely stained.
”Any idea what this could help?
“I look like a real scruff, now I can’t keep it that way.”
While other members of the group flocked to the comments to share their top tips, some claimed that they too had had similar problems with the same product they bought from the mega retailer.
One woman said: ”Mine does this and it eventually goes away after about 3/4 baths.”
Someone else reported the same experience, writing: ‘It happened to me too a few weeks ago, so far nothing has helped.’
“The same thing happened to me this morning,” a third claimed in the comments.
”Oh wow, I always use Tesco bleach, this has never happened to me before,” one customer wrote.
“Thanks for the warning, don’t think I’ll use it again.”
Luckily for Louise (and others) there were also many helpful responses, including one frugal tip: ”I know it sounds stupid, but if coke can clean engines, coins etc, it’s worth a try.

“Good luck and I hope things get back to normal.”
“I would cover it with a non-slip bath mat, which would hide most of the stain,” someone else recommended.
“It could be limescale, try using Viakal on it,” a third advised.
