My Christmas inflatable wasn’t scanning at The Range, then I realized my mistake
HE saw the perfect inflatable nutcracker at The Range and ran to the checkout with it.
But staff were left baffled when the man’s ‘Winter Wonderland’ box wouldn’t scan.
To take to TikTok, The customer explained that the barcode actually indicated an item worth £1,000, adding to the confusion among staff.
Despite the confusion, he managed to convince them to let him take home the box, which said ‘for store use only’ on the bottom, for just £30.
However, when he took it out and blew it up, he quickly realized he had made a big mistake.
Between the two giant Christmas nutcrackers stood a banner that read “Welcome to The Range.”

“So we bought this at The Range but they couldn’t find a price,” he began the clip.
“But it does say shop usage, I wonder why?”
Posing under the banner, he then said: “No wonder it said shop custom and cost £1,000, we’ve got three!”
His wife, who was filming, then said, “Only my husband!”
“We’ll take that, no one will have these decorations!” he added.
To which his wife hilariously quipped, “Just us and The Range?”
He then took the camera to film his other half at the Nutcrackers as he asked her, “So what do you think?”
She seemed completely unimpressed as she joked: “Should I get a job at The Range?”
“Yes, all staffers – this is your new base!” he closed the video.
“I wondered why they couldn’t find a price for it, the price was £1000!” he wrote in the video caption.
In the comments section, someone wrote: “I’m an ex-range employee and I’m confused how they sold that!”
“I know!” the man replied.
‘I stood at the checkout for about forty minutes.
“They were trying to find out why it said £999 on the till!”
“Honestly I didn’t expect the reveal, crying,” laughed another.
“Keep it up, it’s brilliant,” a third urged.
“Buy a new plaque for your house and rename your house ‘the series’,” someone else giggled.
Others suggested he should use some correction fluid, tinsel, or even a large sticker to cover the part of the decoration that says “The Range.”
