My clothing brand is aimed at large breasts – avoid a ‘bulletproof vest’ style problem
The founder of a FASHION brand is making it easier to find flattering clothes for people with a slim build but a full bust.
Her celebrity-approved designs are designed to give you more confidence while saving money by eliminating the need for quick fixes.
Alice Kim is the founder of the fashion company PerfectDD.
Years ago, she left her job in banking to design clothes for well-endowed, petite women (i.e., women with a large cup size and a small band size) who balance their breasts in proportion.
Instead of having to order a size up, the brand’s shirts, hoodies and dresses are custom-made to fit fuller bodies, with no alterations or modifications required.
Their classic button-up shirt, which has many celebrity fans including Salma Hayek and Sydney Sweeney, features a hidden button that prevents the buttons from coming open and being pulled.
These ‘no gaping’ creations have left many jaws dropping.
Her styles, which fit up to M cup sizes, are shaking up the industry and that, she says, is what needs to change, not the female body, where the average bra size in America is a 34DD.
That’s why the company uses the ‘breasts first’ philosophy when designing.
As a 32DD cup woman, her goal is to uplift other women through their clothes and their mindset.
It’s about making them feel ‘sexy’ rather than ‘self-conscious’.
“We meet them where they are at, not where they want to be, because you are beautiful the way you are right now,” Kim told The US Sun.
“We are breast positive and embrace large breasts. We want to change the conversation about this and show society that we are not abnormal,” she continued.
“It’s the brands that need to target women with larger busts, and that shouldn’t just be sexualized.”
NECKLINE KNOWHOW
Alice also shared her tips on what to look for when shopping for a flattering fit.
“The neckline is incredibly important: a top has to have the right neckline height,” she said.
“If it sits too high, like with a crew neck, it can look like a shield or bulletproof vest,” she added.

“If it takes too long, you’re too vulnerable.”
Instead, she prefers a sweet, off-the-shoulder, V-neck or crew neck.
“The focus is on where the skin is showing, so open necklines are important,” she says.
EMBRACE THAT HOURGLASS
Make sure your waist size doesn’t get lost.
“Creating or synchronizing a waist creates an hourglass figure,” she said.
“A defined waist draws attention away from the chest.”
An easy trick is to use a belt.
MONEY SAVING BRILLIANCE
By investing in her line of shirts and dresses, which typically cost less than $250, you can save on your style.
“I always say you can now say goodbye to safety pins and tape,” she said.
After all, she was all too familiar with it herself before launching her life-changing brand.
“Plus, you don’t have to spend extra money on customization because our garments fit your body perfectly,” she says.
Kim previously spoke to The US Sun about the clients who cancelled her breast reduction surgeries after discovering her designs.
She also shared how she was inspired to start her own business because of her own fitness struggles.
“It’s just that if clothes don’t fit properly, the focus will be on your breasts. And if you’re swimming in a swimsuit and you look like a tent, you look bigger than you are.”
