My favorite haircare brand has just launched perfume – and they’re only £30
MY friends are a little tired of hearing about Arkive.
As a beauty writer, I test hundreds of hair care products every month, but there are few brands I love as much as Arkive — and I’m not exactly Calm about it.
Since my very first spray of the brand’s cult hairspray, I’ve been hooked and have since recommended the brand to everyone I know.
Dehydrated hair? Try Arkive. Flyaways and frizz? Arkive. Tight budget? Arkive, always.
Few brands boast a product range that nourishes, softens and smells incredible, all while costing less than £20, but Arkive somehow manages it.
Founded by a famous hairstylist Adam Reed in 2020, Arkive calls itself a ‘headcare’ brand, focused on clearing the mind and taking a moment of break, but also on caring for your hair and scalp.
While all of the above is brilliant, my favorite thing about Arkive products is their scent, as I would love to wear the Arkive hairspray as a perfume.
And now I can!
This fall, Arkive announced it was launching four perfumesstarring the scents we know and love from hair care products.
Packaged in embossed tinted bottles and suitable for spritzing onto hair and skin, these budget beauties are one of my favorite launches of 2024.
The best part?
They cost just £30.
Here’s everything else you need to know…
Arkive decorated wood scent
Arkive Decorated Fragrance EDP, £30
Freshly cut grass, dense foliage and crunching leaves underfoot – this perfume feels like a cold walk in lush forests.
With soft, sweet notes of amber and decadent, spiced ginger, it feels like a breath of morning air.
You’ll also find this scent in Arkive’s Decorated Woods The Reset Dry Shampoo – a limited edition of the brand’s best-selling product.
Arkive Decorated Woods The Reset Dry Shampoo, £8
How to save money on beauty purchases
IF your purse feels tighter than ever before and you want to save money on your makeup routine, have you ever thought about trying out beauty dupes?
Arkive No One Elsie fragrance
Arkive No One Elsie fragrance, £30
This scent made me fall in love with Arkive – and it is now available as a standalone perfume.
When I first tried the Arkive The Mastery Liquid Hairspray, which is scented with the No One Elsie scent, I was so distracted by the scent that I didn’t realize how good my hair looked until a colleague complimented me – and asked what perfume I had been wearing.
Vibrant and fresh, No One Elsie balances spicy rhubarb with leafy tomato notes and is inspired by founder Adam Reed’s grandmother’s greenhouse.
Arkive The Mastery liquid hairspray, £8.67
Arkive Future Bloom fragrance
Arkive Future Bloom fragrance, £30
Just like sticking your nose into a bouquet or walking past a florist, Future Bloom is sweet and enveloping – with the perfect balance between fresh and floral.
With a balance of spicy mandarin, delicate jasmine and comforting white musk, this fragrance takes on a new dimension every time you smell it.
I already love the scent behind Arkive The Good Habit Hair Oil and I’m excited to immerse myself in this perfume now that it’s available in bottle form.
Arkive The Good Habit Hair Oil, £14
Arkive A kind of floral scent
Arkive Some kind of floral scent, £30
Unlike the other Arkive fragrances, A Kind of Floral fragrance is not featured in any Arkive hair products – but I hope it will soon!
The cozy combination of musk and sandalwood combines with fiery pink pepper and spicy lemon for a round, soft scent.
As the name suggests, it’s not really floral – it feels much warmer and more balanced – but still has all the benefits of a floral scent: elegant, delicate and immediately uplifting.
