My Favorite Snack Cured My Acne – It Cleared My Skin Dramatically in 2 Weeks
AN acne-prone man shared how he found a remedy that had nothing to do with what he put on his face, but what he put in his body.
After changing his diet for health reasons, he discovered that a high-fiber snack was the key to making his “bad spots” disappear within a few weeks.
Reddit user Rotary Tool130 explained in a post that he adopted a healthier lifestyle to boost his “low testosterone levels.”
He said he has “made a lot of progress over the past year with gaining weight, exercising and sleeping better.”
His values did rise, but that came at a price.
“Unfortunately, the increase in my levels caused me to have severe breakouts for about 10 months, despite having healthier habits,” he said.
He decided to focus on cooking his own meals and consuming more micronutrients “instead of eating quick, easy meals.”
The Reddit user also reduced his intake of sugar and processed foods.
He noted that the changes in his diet improved his skin “a little, but not completely.”
DIET DECISIONS
As a result, he became even stricter in his diet.

He started eating more raw vegetables and leafy greens, but there was one food that he preferred above all the rest.
“I’ve been eating two to three large carrots a day for the fiber and vitamins for a few weeks now,” he says.
The reason he started eating more of the rooted plant was because it is a “quick and easy” snack.
“In those two weeks my acne has decreased dramatically, even on my body,” he said.
“As I write this, my skin is almost completely clear, except for the spots from my last pimple.”
The Reddit user assumed there were other factors at play, but he believed the roots gave him “the most dramatic result.”
And it looks like he was right.
Colorful vegetables are packed with anti-inflammatory antioxidants and nutrients, such as vitamin C, that may help reduce acne symptoms, according to Healthline.
REDDITORS’ RESPONSES
Many Redditors agree with the benefits of the orange vegetable.
“Carrots are full of vitamin A, so this makes sense,” someone noted.
“Vitamin A (in many forms) is the main ingredient that makes up retinol. Retinol helps heal the skin, speeds up cell turnover in the skin, and can treat acne.”
Another wrote that they had similar results with sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and acorn squash, as these are also “very high in vitamin A.”
Others made suggestions to make it tastier.
“If someone gets tired of carrots, I buy pure carrot juice (sold at Walmart and grocery stores) and use that as a base for smoothies,” one Redditor wrote.
“I also throw in frozen spinach. Plus fruit to mask the flavor, otherwise it would be gross. Fair warning: the color looks gross, but tastes good.”
“I used to have this crazy TikTok snack that turned out to be absolutely delicious. Carrot ribbons with balsamic vinegar, lemon and a pinch of salt. I couldn’t get enough of it,” someone else said.
One Redditor was concerned that his/her skin tone would turn orange, as he/she had also suffered from this problem in the past.
“I’ve read that you need a LOT more carrots spread out over many weeks to get them to get extremely orange,” the original poster replied.
“You’d need a full bag every day.”
Overall, he says he feels his skin tone looks “more even and healthy.”
