My Fixing Trick Keeps Makeup in Place in the Heat and Rain — $6 Purchase Works Best
A MAKEUP fan shared a technique that keeps her products in place, no matter the weather.
She said a $6 purchase was the key to the beauty trick.
Reddit user Ashleymaariexo shared the makeup tip in a post.
She admits the routine can potentially irritate sensitive skin, but she swears by it.
“Probably not the best for my skin, but I use (specifically) Tresemmé Tres Two, a moisture-regulating hairspray in strength 4, as a setting spray for makeup,” she said.
She has tried other products, but she indicated that none of them worked as well as Tresemmé.
“Other hairsprays don’t work the same way,” she said.
“I swear you could spend all day in hot, rainy weather and come home with a makeup look that was just applied.”
The Redditor explained that she learned the technique during her time as a synchronized swimmer.
“I learned the trick when I was doing synchronized swimming!” she said.

“But we used that Got2B freezing spray, which might work better than Botox lmao,” she joked.
“Not only was your makeup intact, you couldn’t even move your face.”
She added that the hairspray does a lot of the work when she does her entire face of makeup.
“I only use it when I’m doing my full makeup routine, which consists of serum, moisturizer, primer, stick foundation mixed with a little liquid foundation, powder 1, bronzer 1, powder 2, highlighter, bronzer 2 and blend,” she said.
“By the time I use the hairspray, there’s already quite a barrier between the hairspray and my face, haha.”
Another trick she learned turned out to be super effective at clearing her skin when she wanted to get rid of everything.
She developed the handy trick during a date.
“Oh, another really weird ‘makeup tip’ I discovered recently. I was at a guy’s house and didn’t want to wash my makeup off on his white towels,” she said.
“The only thing I had in my bag was one Vagisil wipe.
“It removed ALL my makeup with one wipe (I normally need at least 3 because of how strong my makeup is after the hairspray trick above).”
In addition, the cloth left her skin feeling “soothe, cool and refreshed.”
“I’m going to take one to my dermatologist next week to see if I can replace my makeup wipes with it for good,” she said.
