My German grandma barely wears makeup, but we swear we know her fountain of youth
GRANDMA’S youthful radiance isn’t the result of genetics, but of a budget-friendly skin care product sold at Target.
One woman enthusiastically shared that her grandmother doesn’t rely on makeup because she has found the ‘fountain of youth’.
She shared the secret behind her grandmother’s age-defining appearance on the Makeup Addiction forum on Reddit, which has more than 6 million members.
GRANDMA’S GLOW UP
She spoke candidly when she asked fellow Redditors to share beauty tips they learned from older relatives.
“My grandmother is not a big fan of makeup – she almost never wears it,” she wrote under the name AmberRae.
“But she has awakened in me a love for the Nivea cream that looks like this.”
She shared a link to Nivea’s Skin Firming & Anti-Wrinkle Neck & Chest Cream, which costs $15.99 at Target.
The Redditor shared that she’s been using the anti-aging cream since her grandmother introduced her to it.
“She’s from Germany so it makes sense that she would use this stuff and we swear it’s her fountain of youth,” she said.
“It makes your skin so soft and hydrated. I love using it under my foundation, it makes me glow.”

According to Nivea, the cream moisturizes the skin for up to 24 hours and improves elasticity.
When used twice daily, it visibly reduces the appearance of wrinkles within two weeks.
The target group has given the product an impressive rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.
One person said it made the skin on their chest “softer and less wrinkled,” while another raved that their skin was “hydrated and looked smoother.”
“This firming and anti-wrinkle cream is amazing!” said a third.
“It spreads easily and absorbs quickly, making your skin look and feel younger.”
HER THIS
The Redditor revealed that her grandmother also shared a trick to giving her hair more volume.
“We went on a road trip recently and I saw how she teased her short hair to give it volume. Nothing fancy, just enough to give it some bounce.
“I would never have known if it hadn’t been for our trip. What did you learn from your grandmother?”
Many people rated the post positively and several respondents were also very enthusiastic about Nivea’s skin care.
“I love Nivea, it’s great stuff, it doesn’t give me any spots and it doesn’t make me itch,” said one person.
“My grandma is a wise old Spanish woman and she uses Nivea lotions religiously,” noted another.
“And according to her, chamomile tea soothes everything from a bruised knee to a freshly broken heart.
“I have an aunt on my father’s side who taught me early on that natural makeup is the solution.
“She recently remarried and turned 50, but she still radiates like a newlywed in her thirties.”
