Reddit user JadeGrapes shared the makeup removal tip in a post.

“I found a handy trick to clean my brushes and Beautyblender,” they said.

They explained that they kept a squeeze bottle filled with rubbing alcohol and makeup wipes on their dressing table.

The cleaning tools come in handy when applying gel nails or when you want to quickly wipe down your makeup tools.

“I place two makeup wipes on the desk, hold the Beautyblender in one hand over the wipe and saturate the part with makeup that is on it,” they said.

“If extra alcohol gets on the wipes, you still want to moisten them with the alcohol.

“Then move the blender over the wipes to get the makeup out.”

Repetition is key to getting the most makeup out of the sponge.

“Keep bouncing around until the foundation is gone,” they said.

“Fold and turn the cloths to create crisp white spots until almost nothing comes off. Then set the blender aside to dry.”

The same technique works to remove product residue from makeup brushes.

“I put down a fresh cloth, spray it with alcohol and move my blush brush back and forth until there is no pink left on the cloth,” they said.

“Repeat the process with all your brushes. Grab an extra cloth if you need more white surface.”

They used the same technique to get their makeup tools sparkling clean.

“Last step: take the cloth and clean the eyelash curler,” they said.

“The brushes and blender dry within a few hours, because alcohol evaporates much faster than water.”

After sticking to the routine for a while, they started seeing improvements in their skin.

“I have DEFINITELY had less skin irritation and blackheads since starting this,” they said.

“That alcohol kills the bacteria on the equipment.”

While they didn’t specifically state the brand of rubbing alcohol they prefer, those who want to try the trick can purchase a bottle of alcohol isopropyl alcohol 70% at Target for $4.
