My missing butthole pays my mortgage – I’m proud to show off my colostomy bag
A glamorous influencer has revealed how her ‘missing bumhole’ and colostomy bag help pay her mortgage.
Holly April, 30, is a content creator who goes under the management @stoma baby on both Instagram and TikTok.
The influencer and mother, who describes herself as a ‘Colitis warrior, charity ambassador, newspaper journalist and podcast host’, revealed she used to feel terrified talking about life with an ostomy bag.
But now she is not only raising awareness about it but also making money from it.
In one recent clip Holly, who previously opened up about her horrific experience at a Taylor Swift concert, took to social media to explain how making videos online and talking about her life with a stoma has allowed her to pay her mortgage.
She said: “I just saw a creator making this video talking about how a video paid off her mortgage this month.

“And I just want to say that my missing asshole is paying my mortgage, well my share of the mortgage this month, because last month y’all went crazy over my videos talking about my missing butthole, and I made quite a bit of money away from that.
“So thank you everyone for watching me talk about my missing butthole and sharing and spreading awareness about it.
“It means a lot. So keep watching and keep learning and keep spreading the word, because some of us don’t have buttholes.
In another video, Holly revealed the journey she has been on in content creation, telling her fans: “You never regret what you haven’t tried.”
Alongside a video of her posing in a bikini, she shared: “I remember filming my TikToks with my colostomy bag for the first time, feeling embarrassed and wondering if people would laugh at me or be mean.
“That was two years ago now. Since then, I can honestly say that this community has changed my life for the better.
“Sharing the ups and downs for everyone to see. Connecting with people like me. Inspiring others to live their lives authentically.”

What are the red flag warning signs of colon cancer?
IT IS the fourth most common cancer in Britain and the second deadliest. However, colon cancer can be cured if you catch it early enough.
While screening is one way to ensure an early diagnosis, there are things everyone can do to reduce their risk of the deadly disease.
Being aware of the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer, noticing any changes and contacting your GP can be life-saving.
If you notice any of the signs, don’t be ashamed or ignore them. Doctors are used to seeing many patients with intestinal problems.
The five red flag symptoms of colon cancer include:
- Bleeding from the back passage or blood in your poop
- A change in your normal toilet habits, for example going more often
- Pain or a lump in your abdomen
- Extreme fatigue
- Lose weight
Tumors in the intestine usually bleed, which can cause a shortage of red blood cells, also called anemia. It can cause fatigue and sometimes shortness of breath.
In some cases, colon cancer can block the intestine, this is known as a bowel obstruction.
Other signs include:
- Clamping pain in the abdomen
- Bloated feeling
- Constipation and inability to pass the wind
- Being sick
- Feeling like you have to make an effort – like doing a number two – but after you’ve been to the toilet
While these are all signs to look out for, experts warn that the most serious is noticing blood in your stool.
But they warn that it can be difficult for doctors to diagnose the disease because in most cases these symptoms will be a sign of a less serious illness.
Holly is currently campaigning to make emergency ostomy kits available on the high street.

Why do you need a stoma bag?
A colostomy is an operation on the colon, a part of the intestine.
It diverts one end of the colon through an opening in the abdomen known as the stoma.
This means that the person can no longer pass poop.
The poop is instead collected in a stoma bag, which is placed over the opening.
Many people have to undergo a colostomy due to illness.
These may include:
A stoma may also be necessary due to genetic disorders, birth defects, after trauma to the abdomen and after radiotherapy.
